1  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Looks like another Fake X77 TT on: October 21, 2014, 08:40:57 PM
The seller has posted that the car is a clone. Someone pointed out that the trim tag is a fake. Sounds like a stand up guy.
2  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1968 SS/RS spec paint on ebay on: October 21, 2014, 08:31:07 PM
Is it me, or should there only be one dash for spec paint and "2" for black vinyl roof?

X2. I have dealt with Jim since he was the only one answering the phone. He told me along time ago "if I wouldn't put it on my car, I wouldn't sell it!". His website will tell you if something is "technically correct" NOS, or 100% correct.

The vin is too early for an 010 block. Very easy to add a z/28 emblem.
5  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Shat R Proof Front windshield with no DOT? on: October 08, 2014, 10:43:21 PM
James, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I can't get my camera to take a pic of the windshield. The numbers are as follows:
SHAT R PROOF
SHADED
SAFETY PLATE
R AG L56 ASIA
DOT-52 M19

All good! A little tongue in cheek!

If his 302 was .30 over, it would be a 307!
10  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1100837 alternator on: September 27, 2014, 09:05:20 AM
The alternator stamp should be year/month/day. If I am reading this correctly, you have an 09A of 69 production car with an engine cast August 25th of 69. If the alternator is dated 9H25, it is NOT too late.

Can't wait to see that car done. Brian at SCW does amazing work!
12  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 69 Z/28 X77 garage/barn find on: September 25, 2014, 10:40:45 PM
The original Windshield Wiper Motor and the white pump.  Should there be a stamped date anywhere ?  I was looking but didn't see one.  More interesting looking bolt
 head markings.
see if you can clean the paint off the sticker on the wiper motor. It will be date coded

Can't remember who, but someone on the yenko site owns it.
14  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: She's Painted! on: September 15, 2014, 07:43:02 PM
The car looks very nice. One comment, on the top of the cowl I have not seen two separate blackout areas like the painter has done. The two should be connected so there is no yellow gap between the two.

Jon,
Was the cowl blackout unique for the Z-28 ?
Yes it was mike. So you didn't look down through the cowl screen and see body color.
P.S. I didn't get any pics from you.
Buddy
