you know, i was at an autograph signing in january where i met reggie jackson. huge car guy. i took my z-28 out of storage to bring to the show. i asked reggie if he wanted to take it for a ride. he looked out the window and said "Oooh, burnished brown. i had a copo in that color. that was a nice car". i dont see the things that you guys see, but it looked pretty good to me. what doesnt look right to you?

anyone have any 67- 68 rs grille rivets? there are two types. the flat ones rivet the plastic grille to the grille mldgs. the dome headed ones (which i need) rivet the grille mldg to the lower valance. my son had a playoff hockey game that went to a shootout, and i missed a box on ebay. if the guy that won that auction is on this board, i only need six.
thanks

dont feel bad. 90% of camaros dont have the build sheet under the seat or above the gas tank. norwood wasnt too strict about that.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: finding original owner
« on: March 01, 2007, 03:45:20 AM »
i had the original owner, and his whole family over my house last week. it was a little easier for me, as i bought the car from him in 1984. i searched the internet under his name and found out that he had moved to the same town i live in. he was so excited to hear that i still had the car, that he came over to see it even though it is not finished. he brought me a camaro windbreaker that he said the dealer had given him when he picked up the car. he said that he had just seen the original sales receipt from village chevrolet not a few weeks ago, and even remembered what it cost. although he couldn't find it, he feels that his wife may have thrown it out as they are packing up to move to arizona. he came to the house with his wife and two kids, aged 38, and 32 who used to ride in the back seat. they spent about three hours looking over the car and reminiscing. he is going to keep looking for the sales receipt, and his son swears he has seen the owners manual for it. now what is usually with the owners maunal? hopfully a p-o-p.
