Thanks John,
How does that make the car handle
2  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Font end Alignment on: June 08, 2010, 09:05:08 AM
I'm wondering about the specs on a stock 69 Camaro coupe front end alignment.  The cars were aligned for bias ply tires so the specs were CASTER : positive 1/2 + or - 1/2 a degree...  CAMBER: positive 1/4 + or - 1/2 a degree...TOE: 1/8 to 1/4 inches and must not vary more than 1/2 " side to side.

So now that the car has radial tires on it what should the specs be changed to for the best possible handling. Keeping in mind the front end is rebuilt with stock replacement parts.  It just has a 1" sway bar on it instead of the factory bar.

Thanks!
Joe

4  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Steering wheel wrap on: May 30, 2010, 12:58:59 PM
I'm trying to locate the steering wheel wrap that we used to lace over the plastic wheel to give a better grip on the wheel.  While I can find the stuff , I can't find it narrow enough to fit the thin steering wheel on a 69 .  Has anyone got a line on this stuff?   My goal is a wood wheel but for now the bank is busted!!!!

Thanks, Joe

Man...! I've been trying to install new after market door panels in my 69 coupe for most of the weekend!!  What I thought was going to be a easy job has turned out to be just the worst.  So far I have the passengers side on.  Nothing fits and it takes way too many dry fittings and triming to make them fit.  Even then the one I have on could fit better.   They almost fit like the wheel house moldings that are out there!  Is it me?   Or the product?

Your car is beautiful.  The wheels are not so...again... it's just an opinion.  Your car should always be what you want it to be and not what someone else thinks it should be.

You won't really make the car look better with those kind of wheels in my opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Any car from this this era should have the rally wheels or Torque Thrust wheels, Cragar Mags and the like. That's what makes the muscle car look.   Those wheels you want to use will make the car look like a pimp mobile.  I'm thinking most will agree with me.  But there are exceptions.  It's your car you make it what you want.

Thanks for the info guys...my defogger looks nothing like the photo.   I guess it's going back on eBay and the hunt is on for the right one.  I did get the correct switch from the deal...at least!  Mark, you got the part # for the right one? Just so I can ask the question if I find one.
Thanks again, Joe

I got a defogger off eBay that the guy insists is for a 69 Camaro Coupe.  The defogger does not even come close to a fitting the sheet metal holes.  Here's the part # off the blower houseing  P/N 3023590-2-.  the separator plate # is 9843811, the grill is 9884678 with an additional # under that one of 9624516.  I've looked but have not found what the part # fits.  Is there a listing of old part #'s somewhere?
Thanks in advance for any info. Joe
