Originality / 68 396 radiator cap

Hi, was the original radiator cap for 68 396 350hp the short eared or long eared type?
Were they 15 psi?
Any pics appreciated

Ah ok, so mine was built 3rd week of December 1967, and would definitely have come with hex keys.

Yup, I see a lot of stuff on ebay being listed as NOS when it's clearly not, and they're not just using NOS as a keyword either.

True, but they must be punched out under licence from Briggs and Stratton [and GM], if not by B & R themselves?
If they are punched by B & R then that would quaify them as new genuine re-issues?

Ok, so the multileaf rear springs in G31 are the same as in F41? with G31 being a way to order multileaf rears for vehicles other than SS etc?

wow,a few but not that many. I have U46 and A31 also, very few of those options.
A question, F40 and F41 requires 12300 and 12400. I can't see a reference to what 12300 and 12400 are?

I bought a couple sets from Classic Industries last fall.  They had "Briggs and Stratton" on them.

interesting, were they quoted as NOS or exact repro's?

It looks like some guy tried to sell a car using his wife's access to Ebay.

Other way round I'd say, his account - her auction on the previous sale.

Looks ok to me, lotta work to be done though! I tweaked the levels of some of the pics in photochop, from what I could see the interior sheet metal looked fine.

Finally, if you look at the seller's history, you will see he has sold the same exact subframe setup three times.  Three different auctions all with the exact same pic and different high bidders.  My concern is maybe the guy is collecting money only.

Found one of those through googles cache, reserve wasn't met which may be the case with the others.

What transmission and rear axle does it have?
Other distinguishing features of big block were the hi rise hood with stack style ornaments and satin blacked out rear tailight panel [some exceptions i.e black body paint]

Hi all, Did 68 Camaro's only come with hex head style C/D keys, or is it possible that very late 68's came with the newer rectangular and oval head C/D keys?
My date code is 12 C 68 [3rd week December 1968?]

I have noticed elsewhere blank keys being listed as NOS, yet don't have either 'Briggs and Stratton' or 'Rochester Products Division' stamped into the head. I would have expected original factory blanks to still quote the manufacturer

btw, exactly when did production stop for the 68 Camaro, give or take a week?
