General Discussion / Re: Window Sticker Font

Thanks guys. Interesting little details are often hidden in what seem to be insignificant or overlooked items.

Great insight as always.

Oof... Great explanation, but you are right, very complex.

So for purposes of creating a replica window sticker, a 5 in front of the RPO code, along with any ECL from a sample found on a real window sticker should do the trick.

Also, what does the 5 represent?

Thank for the reply.

Why CRG, of course!

Between the RPO code PDF, CRG site, the many reference books I have (including the "Definitive Z/28 Fact Book"), and my resident 69 Camaro expert sdkar, I figure it will be pretty close.

Unfortunately, I do not have a real one from my car to decode (not that it would match perfectly anyway). It would just be for fun, with no other intent.

While I have your ear, I can't say that I understand what the 2 last digits on the window sticker codes represent. For example... 5D80AA. What does the AA stand for? Not just for the spoiler option, but other optioned line items as well. My guess is color if applicable.

Thanks for the link. I have seen this site, but I figured if I new the font, then I could do it myself and make changes if corrections are needed. Since the blanks are readily available, I could make a MS Word template.

I am sure I could find the font, but if someone knows it, please let me know...

Does anyone know the name of the typewriter style font that can be used to replicate the dealer & options text on a Window Sticker?

Seems like a lot of 69 Camaros lean to the left when looking at the back of the car. I never seem to see them leaning right. Is this typical, or am I just crazy?

Hi... Once logged in, the path would be to click "Profile" on the top navigation bar. On the left navigation menu, click "Forum Profile Information". Select "I will upload my own picture". Click "Browse" and look for the correctly sized thumbnail image to upload. Then click "Change Profile" on the bottom.

It is important to knock down the image size to the correct (small) file size so the forum will upload the picture. Large pictures are restricted. You can also host your images on a personal web server. Note that the forum administrator may choose to block uploading at some point, and these instructions may not work. If that is the case, then profile images will have to be hosted on a third party web server.

General Discussion / Re: 1969 Los Angeles Production Numbers

Thank you for the responses. As a follow up question, do you know how this plant is represented on the window sticker's Final Assembly Point? For example did it say:"Van Nuys, California" or "Los Angeles, CA", etc. I have been looking for samples, but again, there are so few around.

Does anyone know how many camaros were Produced in California for the 1969 production year. I have a z28 (124379L502362). I rarely see VINs with the "L" code. Was there any specific reason why cars were produced there as opposed to Norwood?

Looks like there is a dealer auctioning off the right to buy the first new Camaros. The first one sold for $10,000:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300016975787

There is a new one there:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300021042264

Per the auction: THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE AMOUNT OVER THE LISTED MSRP OF THE VEHICLE AT TIME OF PURCHASE. (no amounts have been released for the vehicle from GM)

I am pretty sure GM would not be too happy with this dealer (http://www.garymillerchevroletbuick.com). Isn't this another form of scalping?

So far so good. I have been using the Frankenstein regulator in my car quite a bit and it seems to be working just fine.

Unless something has changed recently with the restrictions (which is quite possible), I don't think the forum will allow you to upload a profile picture that is too large in file size (especially since it is for a small thumbnail sized picture). Try knocking down the image to something smaller. I first tried to do this with the raw image from my digital camera, and it did not work either. When I made it smaller it worked. If you are unable to size it correctly, Email it to me and I would be happy to do it for you.

How about starting a members Photo Gallery as one of the sections on the forum home page. The forum is capable of having pictures uploaded. It would be a great place for people to show off their handy work, and maybe post a little bio/history about their car.

Hey Jeff,

I still have not installed it either. I recently replaced the original version with the solid state version, which is still in the car. I figured I would leave that in a little while to see how it responds, so I can compare that to the one I just put together.

I also want to get your thoughts on the way I did it. I used the plastic "insulation" and metal tabs from the Solid State version, instead of the original as they were simply in better shape. Should work the same, right?

Regards,
Adam
