Yes!  The bolts go up from the bottom.  Threads on top.

You all have 50/50 mix antifreeze to water in your cooling systems?

I do around 50/50 to 60/40, and I always use distilled water.

I don't do anything special.  My Camaro sits from Nov thru April.  Then it's driven about 500 miles per summer.  I flush and fill it every 3 or 4 years.  Haven't had any problems at all.

Anyway to tell the bases apart from one another? Thanks
[/quote]

On '67 and '68, the snorkel points to the driver's side.  In '69 it switched to the pass. side.  The base only fits on the 4 bbl. one way.  Also, automatics (like yours), has the thingy ma bob on the snorkel.  Standards have a plain smooth snorkel.

Here:

The lids are easy to find (black).  They were used on several Chevy models through the '70's.  The base is harder to find.  I don't think anyone repops them, I could be wrong.

I agree.  I wouldn't mess with it.  Take some good pics of it though!

What doesn't look right to you?  I'm curious because I've been looking for a set.  If that's what I'd have to pay for a set though, I might stop looking.

Here's on Rick's sells.  Most of the parts houses sell them.  There's a different one for 70 and up SBC.
