My '68 SS/RS 350 has its' original front and rear side marker bezels.  All 4 have black painted valleys.  And yes, actually it is semi gloss black.   ;D

Love the safety but don't like the look.  Don't they make individual LED bulbs now that you could just pop in the original tail light housing?

In the A.I.M. , upc N40 sheet A4, (page 373) make sure you are looking at "VIEW A" which is for the L48 (350).  If that picture isn't making sense to you, then I also think you have the wrong brackets.

My 2 cents:  In the summer of 1969 a guy on my street bought a brand new 1969 SS 396 right off the lot.  Body color was white.  Rear tail panel was semi gloss black.

Paul - The 28 coil springs are correct for SS.  Yes, the hood should stay open.  Soemthing's definitely wrong, but I don't know what.  Here's some more info about the springs:

This will help, but it won't give you exactly what you're looking for:

I don't think there's any way to come up with an exact number.

What is correct fuel pump to carb. fuel line for a '68 SS 350?   5/16" or 3/8" ?

« on: March 31, 2009, 02:37:04 AM »
SS/RS         yes
RS/Z28        yes
SS/RS/Z28   NO

Z/28 = 302
SS = 350 or 396

RS is a styling package, most prominent feature being the hideaway headlights.

The pic with the hood pins.... Were those available as a factory option?  Dealer istalled?  Aftermarket?
