Originality / 68 327 2bbl air cleaner heat stove tube
« on: October 31, 2011, 12:36:54 AM »
Does anyone have a pic of a 1968 327/210hp 2bbl heat stove tube for the M35 auto trans. application.  Looks like 2 part #'s 3917680 was 2bbl & 3916309 was for the 4bbl L30 & L48.  I collected 2 tubes over the years but now I am assembling the engine & its components and both tubes do not work with my air cleaner and heat stove.  The tube lines up farther away from the engine on the snorkel so I am thinking they are for the 4 bbl application.  I attached pics of my tube and air cleaner. If anyone has a pic of the 2bbl tube that would be greatly appreciated.

Restoration / 1968 camaro washer pump
« on: November 25, 2010, 03:02:33 AM »
Any trick to removing the cam lobe under the washer pump? Service manual says it is press fit.  I want to use the early design washer pump on my 68 wiper motor but it has the plastic cam lobe (which is slightly larger) and I picked up a early set up with the steel cam lobe.  I am trying to avoid breaking it

Originality / Choke Cover Paint
« on: January 21, 2010, 12:23:15 PM »
On a base engine with painted intake, was the choke cover painted or unfinished?  Also I assume the thermostat housing bolts were also painted as this was installed before the engine was sprayed, correct?

Thanks

Decoding/Numbers / 68 camaro 7 blade fan 3931002
« on: November 17, 2006, 10:12:40 PM »
I have a 68 327/210hp RS vert with factory AC, so it would have the HD Radiator.  It has a 3931002 K67 7 blade fan with clutch.  Date looks reasonable for for 01C build date. I have owned car for past 20 years.  However I don't see this listed in the assembly manual anywhere and looking at the CRG research section I don't see listed either.  Was a 7 blade fan an option in 68, can anyone with factory ac confirm

I tried a search and came up with nothing

Thanks in advance for your help

Restoration / 1968 manifold pre-heat sheild & tube for 327/210
« on: March 20, 2006, 12:10:07 AM »
Does anyone know where I can get the manifold preheat shield and tube that goes from the exhaust manifold to the air cleaner for a 327/210.  I haven't seen these as a repo.  Also will a 327 setup for a 68 Chevelle use the same part

Thanks

Originality / 68 rs lower bodysill paint
« on: March 01, 2006, 01:09:35 AM »
Did all 68 RS option cars have the lower bodysill painted black. Mine is Y2 butternut yellow. I understand below the lower trim is suppose to be black, what color paint gloss, semi etc and does the paint go into the lower door jam area when you open the door.
