256  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Tire date decoding on: June 21, 2006, 01:48:59 PM
The reason I want originals is that the car is an original survivor car. They will be for show only. In the Vintage classes you don't get points for repro, only original or NOS parts. So can anyone answer my original question on date codes?
257  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Tire date decoding on: June 21, 2006, 08:38:17 AM
Is there a web site I can go to to decode tire dates. I need original tires for my 69SS 04C car and want to make sure I get the right ones. What would be correct Goodyear wide tread or Goodyear polyglas? Or both?
258  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Are there still rooms for the Camaro Nationals? on: June 09, 2006, 06:08:01 PM do you know what original paint cars are scheduled to be there? Is there a list out? I have a 69 SS350 RS that will be there. Also you may want to try Best Western. I booked a room there 2 weeks ago. 717-243-6200
259  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1969 windshield needed on: May 22, 2006, 08:17:59 PM
Thanks for the info but I need original glass. Car is going to be shown in the Vintage class at the Camaro Nationals. Repro just won't work.
260  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 1969 windshield needed on: May 22, 2006, 10:52:29 AM
Looking for a 1969 windshield dated XV or XL. Must be Soft-Ray.
261  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 1969 air conditioning duct work on: May 19, 2006, 04:28:27 PM
Does anyone know what goes between the air distributor duct and the center outlet adapter duct. I have about an inch and a half gap between the two? If so where do I find it?
262  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 8 track on: April 22, 2006, 08:49:48 AM
Mark ....from what I understand then it would be correct to run a mono AM/FM with the U80 fader and only use the 2 speaker system. However since I have a console car I must use the console mounted 8 track and not the underdash model. If that's the case that sucks cause I really don't want it mounted on the console.
263  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 8 track on: April 21, 2006, 06:24:54 PM
Currently my car has an AM radio with optional rear speaker. I am going to install a factory AM FM mono radio. Was there an 8 track available with that combination or did you have to get the stereo radio to get an 8 track? If so what is the part number. Also where did the 8 track mount?
264  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1969 spare wheel on: April 20, 2006, 07:01:32 PM
What were the optional tire sizes for an SS?
265  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: re-stamping a block on: April 19, 2006, 11:14:43 PM
Personally I think restamping a VIN on a block should be illegal. To me it's no different than changing the VIN on a car! I say throw all the owners of shops that restamp in jail!
266  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 1969 spare wheel on: April 19, 2006, 09:12:25 PM
If a car came with rally wheels was the spare also a rally? I have an original car but not sure if the wheels are. They are correct coded rallys but the spare wheel is a steel wheel with body color.
267  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1967 SS350 Convert Insurance Value? on: March 31, 2006, 02:12:45 PM
Do what I do. Just put a value on it as to what it's worth to you. I usually ad $10000.00 to what ever I paid for it or have in it. I have State Farm and my agent told me that he has had cases where people don't insure them for enough and the company will notify him and have them increase coverage. I have $50000.00 value on my 1969 SS350 and it only cost me $17.00 a month for full coverage.
268  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: X77 dash wood grain on: March 31, 2006, 10:54:18 AM
I think it depends on if you car came with RPO Z23 package. That would include wood grained accents on instrument panel and steering wheel, asssist grip and pedal trim.
269  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Engine pad....painted or not on: March 31, 2006, 10:42:56 AM
Does anyone know if the engine pad was painted at the factory? I have heard that they were not painted. Is that correct? I assume they weren't so that they could be read easier since they wouldn't be filled up with paint.
270  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / 1969 SS350 camaro for sale on: March 28, 2006, 11:10:54 PM
Just bought another car so I'm selling my SS350. It is an early car so no X code however it is a complete numbers matching car. It is a 3 speed car, all original except one repaint. Paint is very nice. This car is very original. Same owners owned this car from 1970-2005.
