Welcome back from one Danny to another!

I'm a buyer if someone in the area wants to check it out for me.
3  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 'Questionable' or FAKE cars.... Hemmings article on: April 04, 2014, 12:29:30 PM
Most interesting! I always like the topics that Hemmings bring to the forefront of the hobby. That last sentence about 2 stolen Iso's from Italy, I have a feeling, sums up the this car's identity. I guess more will come out as the facts surface.
On a side: I maintain a couple of antique car collections. One owner is deceased and the cars are in the estate. I worked on the cars when the owner was alive, but contracted with the Executrix's to do a monthly start up and keep cars in running order. I thought this would be short term, but now going on 3 years of doing this service. I am not sure what the status of the cars are, but I advised the owner when still living(of course) that he needed to get the cars titles straightened out. He apparently was not too concerned as he did not do as I suggested. Some of his cars where bought at auction, out of state. He never got some of these cars put in his name, I believe this as there is an out of state inspection needed for Ohio titles, which I offered to take care of. This could be what is holding up dispersal of the cars. I can only speculate as the heirs do not keep me informed as to the car's status's. All the cars are pre-war verts. all $100k plus, or close to, type vehicles. Most here, if not all, are diligent in documentation, I hope. Just a reminder, if anyone has something clouded or unresolved, that getting your affairs in order before you leave this Earth is my advice, nuff said.

Very dumb not putting title in his name. I'm sure the reason is because he didn't want to pay the sales tax. Big problem is that technically the title is still in the previous owners name. They could still claim ownership. I've tried to buy a few cars that guys are selling with open titles like that. I always tell them the title has to be in their name first or I won't buy it.

Getting a little worried. Seems we would have heard from Danny by now.

7  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: New Z28 Pricing.... $75K??? on: January 05, 2014, 05:24:06 PM
That's priced outside the range of the regular folks.
Honestly, I hate the new Camaro body. If I were to buy a new car today it would definitely be the new Challenger R/T.

Mike
In 2010 I bought a new fully loaded minus sunroof 2SSRS for $35K. Not sure how they justify more than double that. Hated the car. My son has a 2009 Challenger R/T and I love it. Way better car to drive.

Someone put a repop trim tag on it... damn that sucks terribly for the owner.
IT is a LARGE TT for a VERY EARLY November of 1968 built car.

Come on. Very obvious tag is original and untouched.

Try tightening up the steering box. I did and it really helped
10  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Lobbying pays off on: August 28, 2013, 05:15:08 PM
Been in effect in Ohio since first time I had to do it and that's been 15 years. Don't know when they started it but my guess is there was no inspection required at all before.

In Ohio you take the car to a dealer. They check the VIN and mileage and then fill out a form with your name and address with the VIN and mielage. You take that and title with you to title office and then get an Ohio title. Pretty simple.
12  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Up to date Ebay statistical results on: June 09, 2013, 10:02:59 AM
EBay changed search a while back. You have to go to advanced search and use exact words any order instead of all words any order. Narrows it down alot.

They also used Uniroyal.
14  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: HELP STOLEN IROC ALERT!! on: May 05, 2013, 03:20:10 PM
That's why I always either wait until check clears, get cash or have wire transfer before car and title leave.
15  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1969 Z/28 questions on: May 04, 2013, 06:04:15 PM
To me none correct color devalues the car the cost to repaint.
