I wonder if any CRGers know anything about the whereabouts of the traded in car at the bottom of the yellow paper work? 68 Camaro N355597?
that Z/28 had a blueprinted engine with 140 cam, varicam timing gear and headers. I always sold my used cars thru the dealer so I would get the state sales tax credit on my next car. a local guy in Donegal pa. bought it from me.

Thanks all, for the suggestions and help!

also if you do use poly locks set the lash .003 loose ,tighten the locking set screw and then use the adjustment nut to tighten to the correct lash. this wall tighten then poly lock in place. just snugging up the allen lock screw does not do it

I have used "PAL"nuts as a lock nut on the std GM nuts

General Discussion / Re: 68 L-89 with Heavy Duty clutch

I know of a couple of cars that were attempted to order with the MA6. Orders were held up and finally built without.
Corvettes did get it.
I had to use a L-88 clutch disks in my Z/28 because the stock disk would throw the lining off at high RPMs. also the 10.5 diameter disk with a 11 inch pressure plate would shift better because the edges of the disk would not feather out like using the 11 inch disk

The 67 is just a clone, IMO. Nothing indicates it was anything special.

The 68 - neat article. Haven't heard that it's done.

I was the one who did the heads on that car. it was not delmont engineering but performance engineering in delmont . I have not talked to brian for a while as his shop is just about 15 miles from

Why do we have to take it so personal when someone gives their "opinion" as to whether or not something is legit?  I started out on this site quoting Colvin, saying I had a rare DZ block casting # and really thought I had something.  Then it was divulged that it wasn't so rare at all and Colvin kind of jumped the gun.  Info comes and changes things.  At first I thought screw you guys, you don't know what you're talking about.  Then I had a 480 dist. from a 69 DZ engine that was in my 68 and the engine was put in there 35 years ago.  The experts said the 480 was a restamp.  I could try to justify it all day long as being there before anyone would want or need to restamp something,  But the consensous of experts was that it is a restamp, so there is nothing short of me having a video of the dist. being made that is going to change what the experts say, so I have to live with it and am selling it on the basis and price of being a restamp.  Am I happy that this was the outcome? No.  But I have to accept the reality of things or be bitter and lash out.  I would rather not be bitter, so it's a choice of accepting reality.  I do not take it personal.

Ed I wish you would reconsider.
