Restoration / 1969 Alternator date
« on: April 19, 2006, 11:29:23 PM »
On an 8D built Norwood car, I am assuming that any H date alternator would be suitable.  Correct?  Need 1100843 (327 with A/C), anybody got one in their pocket?

Restoration / 1969 327 engine details
« on: April 19, 2006, 11:24:46 PM »
This will be the first of many trivial questions to come.  On a Flint built 1969 327 I gather that the water pump was attached before the paint process, therefore the water pump bolts should be painted with the engine assembly.  Correct?  Original pics??  Thanks, Dave

What does the title say for a VIN?  If you don't have a title, stop working on the car until you can prove it's yours.  Pull the cowl grill and find the alternate VIN as well.  Dave

Does anybody know if there are reproduction carb tags available, or who could do it?  I will try to post a pic.  Dave

Can somebody detail the differences between Z23 and Z87?  Is the deluxe upholstery the only difference?  Thanks, Dave.

Originality / Need 3953692 water pump

Needing a dated water pump from early H of 68.  All of my engine cast dates are H4 to H7.  Car build is 8D.  Engine build is 0816.  I know this is not an easy one to find as this is extremely early 1969 production and this was a new water pump.  Thanks,  Dave

Mr. Rich Fields...

Cool, calm, and collected.  I believe in an honest opinion, but I appreciate your positive attitude and hard work.  Thanks.  Dave

I don't think they give enough pennicillin at the local clinic to cure this piece.  I've made honest attempts for years to love the Chevrolet brand, I cut my teeth in big block junkers.  I've lost my confidence in GM.  At least 5 years of garbage and no sign that it will get better.  Can you say Avalanche?  Dave

All I get from this is floor shift 4speed and no vinyl top.  Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.  Dave

Kurt--The cast size is typical of normal casting dates.  There is a single number 3 on the left side upper to the right of the casting clock, any relevance?  I can't believe this block doesn't have a cast date.  Dave
