Probably swapped with another Z to get new tires (I just got mags and you can have the old wheels and tires for $50, just give me your rims....).

I'm not sure anyone knows the transition dates for that carb. Sad  There is the chance that you will only find one of those three part #'s with the correct dates for your build date.

The engine date is irrelevant; the carb was put on in the assembly plant so the body build date is relevant.
2808  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Trim Tag no X code on: December 05, 2007, 11:08:37 PM
The no-x codes are actually split pretty evenly between coupes and convertibles.

When you say it doesn't match, you mean the partial VIN by the oil filter or is there a VIN on the pad.
What axle is under the car and does it match?
Lastly, does the car have style trim (chrome quarter gills)?

1st version, 2nd verion, 3rd version.
2810  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: radiator option for 375HP 396 on: December 04, 2007, 09:42:05 AM
And I'm still a doubter.
With a picture of the docs or even the VIN (we might already have data on the car), we can normally tell if it's real.

The nuts that Mikey is referring to are on the right side of the heater controls.
2812  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: YH wheels on: December 02, 2007, 06:02:33 PM
AD wheels were to Dec 68.
Then the YH's came out mid Dec 68 thru the rest of the 69 model year and then the 70 model year.

1970 wheels are dated for 1970. Smiley

Did you see this: http://www.camaros.org/carb.shtml?
2814  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: radiator option for 375HP 396 on: December 02, 2007, 05:55:26 PM
Yup, see Radiator Variables in http://www.camaros.org/coolingsystems.shtml

And I'm a doubter that the window sticker was real. According to the factory docs (and the thousands of cars we've seen), V01 was not available with a 396.
2815  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: hidden vin numbers on: December 02, 2007, 05:51:58 PM
Stefano,

Misinfo.
I've seen the model #, 12437, stamped on a panel in the trunk. But that's just to tell the plant it went to a Camaro, not a Caprice, etc. It is not a VIN.
2816  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: SS Non X Code Cars on: November 30, 2007, 02:39:52 AM
A 69 SS could have a powerglide or a 3 speed manual too. 69 SS powerglide cars often had 10 bolts.
Power steering was optional.
Could have XT wheels.
2817  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Distributor Date on: November 30, 2007, 02:32:32 AM
I pulled one out of a L48 that was a December motor with an earlier than your distributor. Use it. Smiley

Thanks Paul!  So noted.
2819  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Assembly manuals on: November 29, 2007, 02:09:30 AM
I have actually seen the original AIM's.
Some day I may be able to clarify some hard to read data in them.....
2820  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: YH wheels on: November 29, 2007, 12:47:34 AM

They were also used on Monte Carlo's in 1970. When purchasing verify year designation as well.

Same wheel, but most of the Monte Carlo rally wheels were stamped "FW".
All the 71+ Monte wheels were FW. 70 Monte wheels were YH and are often on ebay.
