2746  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Interior and exterior color combinations on: June 13, 2007, 02:08:34 PM
All non-Z stripes (SS/D90 and DX1) were red, black, and white.
Z stripes were only black and white, except for pacers & Z10's which of course were orange.

For 69, it can be complicated. See http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#ExteriorColors and the associated footnotes.

I've never seen any Z with anything other than white or black stripes.

If you look at the burgundy color info, the red stripe is for SS only.

It's been on ebay at least 2 times before. No bites.... Smiley
2749  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1968 396 10 Bolt? on: June 09, 2007, 12:33:59 AM
Actually, those 69 SS's would have 10 bolt multileafs, not monos. Smiley
2750  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Vin # in database on: June 06, 2007, 01:53:52 AM
Do a search for 'database' and that should answer your question.
2751  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1968 396 10 Bolt? on: June 06, 2007, 01:38:04 AM
Both those statements are a little too inclusive. Smiley
Some low-po's got 12 bolts (certain 67 posi ratios) and some SS's had 10 bolts (69 SS powerglides).
2752  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: DO YOU HAVE THIS VIN IN YOUR DATA BASE ? on: June 06, 2007, 01:33:03 AM
I remember that one. It was just on ebay, was yellow, needs some work. Smiley
Good luck!
2753  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Is this VIN in your database? on: June 02, 2007, 08:14:08 PM
No problem.
2754  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Vin # in database on: June 02, 2007, 12:27:52 AM
Nothing on that VIN.
But can I get a pic of the block pad?
Thanks!

No.

A contributor to this and other forums bought the tags, cowl, and block for a L78 ragtop. Turns out everything was a restamp. There's some posts on here and camaro.net about it. The block was returned to the seller.

99.9% sure that's the same block. Same cast date, same VIN, same pad features....

I believe the seller also goes by jaminnow, chevepart, ringblow.
2757  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: Correct Carburetor for 69 Camaro 396-325 hp on: June 01, 2007, 11:17:55 PM
I'll say the most of the carb listings are correct. It's just the 68-9 L35/4 carb listings that are in error.
2758  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: 67 REAR END HOUSEING COLOR on: May 31, 2007, 11:16:55 PM
All axles were painted black as a complete unit.
2759  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: trunk spatter painted before or after the balast weights installed on: May 31, 2007, 11:09:54 PM
Before.
But the ballasts were also splattered (they must have been hung in the trunk and then installed).

Like with Earl's question (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=2093.0;all) about a L35/auto, the usage does not match the printed info.

The correct carb for L35 & L34 manuals is 7029215 EH.
