Don't use it on a diesel either!
2747  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: DZ motor VIN stamp on: January 19, 2008, 01:28:35 AM
You can try sending me a hi-resolution jpg of it.
2748  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: DZ motor VIN stamp on: January 18, 2008, 05:16:25 PM
99% sure that's the original motor and the original stamp. With a better pic, could get rid of that 1%. Wink

Doug,
No trans code indicates it came with a 3 speed manual trans.
2750  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 69 Z Question on: January 17, 2008, 12:04:37 PM
And it probably had Z21 Style Trim or Z22 Rally Sport if it has the quarter gills and the roof gutter moulding (though someone could have added it too).

If it even had gauges....
2752  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Search for particular 06C Black Nose C-1 4N car on: January 17, 2008, 11:43:20 AM
Thanks for looking for this car/VIN Kurt.   I believe it's out there and was recently told it was a black nose dealer replica....
Unless someone has talked to the original owner, there's no way of knowing if a car was ordered as a replica or just happened to be ordered with that color combo. Several were ordered like a pacer long before the race, so there's every reason to expect that people ordered them like that after the race too.

So CRG has   R (Bright blue)  732-Z deluxe interior  C-4 (Irmine white-blue topper) RS/SS Convertibles later then 06C?
Thanks again.

Rick
You have it narrowed down by eight different specific variables! No.
2753  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: DZ motor VIN stamp on: January 17, 2008, 12:33:46 AM
Do you have a good picture of the pad?
2754  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Search for particular 06C Black Nose C-1 4N car on: January 16, 2008, 10:10:18 AM
A dealer ordered pacer replica-replica could have be built right up to the last day of production in mid-July.

I do know of several later C-4 cars with blue guts. That was a good color combo and thus was ordered (probably sometimes without even knowing about the pacers).

Haven't heard of the car in question since.......
2755  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: gearbox crossmember ? on: January 15, 2008, 08:59:20 PM
?? I'm confused. There's only one factory crossmember that will fit, so unless there's some aftermarket options I don't know about, your options are limited.
2756  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: What do you think of this engine pad and stamp? on: January 15, 2008, 10:43:23 AM
And the window sticker is a fake too.
2757  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: 69 LA Z..Real..or??? have #'s and pics... on: January 14, 2008, 11:23:38 PM
Thanks for the tag pic!
Yes, it looks like M20. Yes, that doesn't help to narrow it down.
Assuming the fuel line is original (looks it), then the car was either a Z or a L78.

The same tailpanel holes are used by all emblems.
2758  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Info In Your Database on: January 14, 2008, 11:05:05 PM
No, nothing other than the info from your letter in the Super Chevy issue back in 92.
Sorry.

Jon,
Thanks for posting. The car is not in the database, so no help there.

Can I get a picture of the engine pad? No hurry, whenever you get a chance. Thanks!
2760  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Pypes pipes on: January 13, 2008, 11:49:40 AM
Gardner makes probably the best original system out there.
But it will cost you in power. A LT1 Deuce owner ran 14.25 ET 98.69 MPH with his concourse car. Only changed the exhaust to Pypes - ran 13.50 ET 104.11 MPH.
.7 sec gain is a lot! Probably be more for a L78 or a L72.
