2746  Orphans - documentation or VIN-stamped drivetrains - in search of the original cars / 1969 - Orphans / Re: 9N71050? - L48 engine block on: May 15, 2007, 10:40:18 PM
The 386 block is an early 69 block and the cast date supports that. But that VIN is too high. Maybe 9N571050 ??
2747  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: Correct Carb 69 396 325hp on: May 15, 2007, 02:43:22 PM
Unfortunately, there's some confusion in the various references on this carb.
The correct # 7029204 FF.
The date could even be a week closer (about 1019).

When was this orange hounds tooth deluxe interior offered on non-Indy Pace Cars?  Early, mid, or late builds?
It was available for all cars at the same time. About Feb. 69.
It would appear that the pacers drove it's availability.

Thanks Paul!
You're doing a nice job of documenting these ebay items.

Your car was built about 4/22-23.
That's a too close, IMO.

Tom,
That note also shows up on the mid-year ordering info.
Special Performance Package = Z28 = white stripes. Smiley
2752  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 69 Z/28 Exterior Color Question on: May 10, 2007, 11:21:55 PM
I'd have to see docs on any red striped Z.
I've seen original paint burgundy Z's and they were white striped.....

Yes, it should be a 2 bolt.

I'd be interested in a pic of the engine pad. Smiley
No hurry.
Thanks!
2755  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Help decoding please on: May 01, 2007, 03:33:46 PM
It's not an inspection stamp. The inspection stamp is located on top of the trans.

This was in the gang stamp and there's only one symbol in 68.
In 67, some trans have a mini-7 after the code.

I have not been able to discern a pattern, yet.....

OK with me to put them in the orphan category then.

To help make to try to make ebay actions traceable, how about we add: seller, location, and buyer if it sells.
That should help a lot in finding the part in the future....

Thanks!

No, that was about Z10's.

Check out the ID part of http://www.camaros.org/69pacer.shtml.

That's a good question Paul.
I wondered that same thing. I tend to think that since the ebay, etc, items aren't very traceable after the auction disappears, posting in General Discussion is more appropriate. But I sure won't delete the posts like this one. Smiley

I'm open for discussion on this one. Anyone have strong feelings one way or the other?
2760  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Is this vin in the CRG database? on: April 28, 2007, 10:52:13 PM
No, it isn't.
