Fixed.
I recommend camaros.net for classified.
We chose not to do a classified section cause they do it so well.

General Discussion / Updated site info
« on: March 24, 2009, 09:24:27 PM »
JohnZ updated his assembly article with some new schedule info and repair info. I added several factory pictures that I've been collecting over the years and put internal hyperlinks in the article (I've also been adding the internal hyperlinks to other articles). http://www.camaros.org/assemblyprocess.shtml

I also redid the trans page with some crossmember information and eliminated the FAQ format.

NB, If everybody posted with X's in the Vin deriative , this would be a useless category
I agree. It's not like someone is going to invent a car to match an engine. There's no reason not to list the full VIN on components and docs.

Some 69's have been observed with different fonts on the two stamps.
The stamps look OK.

General Discussion / Re: Special Order Paint -Playboy Pink
« on: March 23, 2009, 01:43:56 AM »
I've only heard about this one car. It's an interesting story, but ...... no other Camaros have shown up. There's also some pink Firebirds too.

It would be done as a Fleet and Special Order (F&SO). It would be scheduled just like any other car - all parts had to be there to be on the schedule, including the special paint.
Wait a day or so and there will be info in the assembly article that addresses this. :)

C75 is the climate control (you set the desired interior temp) version of AC. Fancy-smancy back then, available on the full-size cars.

No, it's not the same VIN.

"Missed by this much." :)

No. It's correct.
The format of the partial VIN didn't change. It just tells you the year, not the decade.
A picture of the engine block would show it has a short engine pad.

063's.

1 & 3.
They just took the same casting and machined it for the larger crank and clearance for the crank throws.
After you machine them differently, obviously they aren't the same. :)

Nope, I think it's an original.  Original to a 79 Camaro. :)
DRH is a 79 350.

RPOs were not shown if they were part of a package.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Is This 12 Bolt Rear End A Restamp?
« on: March 15, 2009, 06:25:06 AM »
As you stated, in 1968 "BE" was a 12 bolt 2.56 open shown on the AXLE page. A lot of books don't show it for 68, but it was used.
One correction: BE is a 68 axle code, but we've never seen one in a car. Not to say it wasn't used, but we've never seen one.

Claude,
You are not reading that correctly.
In the text, it states:
At the LOS factory, the 2M code was applied to any automatic transmission, including the M40 (e.g., the 2Z code was not used).

I'll make the table clearer.
