Originality / Re: Correct Seat Belts???
« on: May 10, 2009, 02:47:13 AM »
Those are not the original belts. Robbins was never installed in a 67-9 Camaro and the model #'s are incorrect.

1969 - Orphans / Re: 19L528796 block on ebay

The seller sold the car in 2005 with a 327 in it. The buyer did not want the original engine with the car.

Do you have a pic of the pad? Is it a short or long pad?
This a long pad. A short pad doesn't really have enough room to stamp two sets of #'s.

General Discussion / Re: Which Camaro Numbers Book Is Better?

I also used some info form these links:
http://www.chevy-camaro.com/etc.....
There's some errors on that site. The CRG site is a better reference, IMO.

The shaft was spinning when the stripes were applied.

Restoration / Re: Powder Coating

Some high-end cars have been restored with powder coating.
Gloss is more important that type of paint, IMO.

I'm not sure where you see that there's 3 stripe exceptions.
There's only one in 68 - footnote #2 for Matador Red.

Black stripes on a dark color like that would not be visible. Might look cool, but the factory did the stripes in white.

The location bounced around at LA. http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#partialVINs
But your location is common for that timeframe.

What's the work order # on the cowl tag (e.g. A123, on the same line as the build date)?
What's the engine code?

Thanks!

Probably pretty close.

April 15th. It's not original to the car. If the casting # ends in 341, then it is a 70 axle - and probably is then stamped CBT.

Most Hugger Orange cars with tops had black tops vs white tops, about a 7:1 ratio.
