They have come down in price, especially the BB ones.

I used to run a lead additive with 93 octane but now I just go and buy Sunoco 112. Don't like the ethenol in the gas today. The 112 makes the plugs more readable and the car seems to start and run a little better with the 112. Expensive but I don'r drive the car real far but drive it weekly, maybe even twice a week in nice weather.

purple tint started in 1970 I believe. Also the assembly line versions really don't look like the NOS or over the counter pcv valve either.

General Discussion / Engine value to 1968 Z28 owner
« on: August 02, 2011, 02:33:29 AM »
I agree with you Mopar. $12,000 is steep even for the orignal car. If I needed a DZ 302 for my car, and it was not original to my car why would I pay 12,000 for the wrong motor? No matter what, it still would be the wrong motor for my car. Maybe $5,000 complete if all matching for the original car the motor was from. I don't understand why the owner that did the resto di not want the motor and original parts back. I guess it was a trade off for a stronger running 350 and some newer, upgraded parts?

I believe they are pretty much spot on. The guys doing those hoses did alot of research on their parts.

did the previous owner instruct the restorer to remove all that original stuff from the car? If he did, the person getting the restoration on his car did NOT want the parts back?

For as much as you are going to drive that car you can drive on those tires. I have been doing it for years on tires 30 years old. No problems ever.

never saw one of those sold by itself. Call Camaro Specialities in East Aurora, NY. Bob may have something for you.

can't see them under the valve cover so I would not lose sleep over it. I would assume they used both designs.

don't think that will make much difference. Some Rally Wheels are the same way.

General Discussion / Re: 69 DZ Blocks

They probably grabbed any 4 bolt block available for the build. Probably not to concerned about a 388,386, 010 or whatever in those days. Get the car built and sold.

Again, DZ is not a block just a suffix code.
