Nope...  Know the guy who writes his pay check though...

Ed & Steve,

BTW, how did you find that info.?  The P & A?  If the P & A, what was it listed under?
I about tore my friend's P & A apart looking for that lamp, but didn't find it under "hood, lamp, under, assembly" and half a dozen other words...

Ed,

Yes on the tinting, but also the general look...

I've got a friend who thinks his radio is original.  But in several ways it doesn't look right --including the clearer Firebird look.  I think the thing is a very nice repo.  He's going to show it in a couple of weeks.  (It looks and sounds great, so obviously, he does not want to rip it out!) Lucky for him I'm not juding that one!

I'm also on the look for one myself.  (Right now, I've got an obvious repo.)  At that same show, I'm going to stroll the swap and vendor aisles, looking for a bargain.  In my case, it doesn't even matter if it works...

Thanks!

Dan,

Bingo!  I knew the Corvair light looked like what you had described.  If you will look at the Ebay picture that Ed posted, it looks just like the one on my friend's Corvair (hanging upside down).  If you want a replacement, look at junked Corvairs or Novas, as well.

Does anyone know if the 67 hood lamp assembly was the same as the Corvair?

So, John, exactly where are they stamped (on the firewall?) on the driver's side on a Norwood car?

Dave,

My motor and transmission isn't original, and I have the exact same problem with the linkage.  The powerglide linkage runs right across where the numbers are.  When we had it up on the rack last Feb., I asked my favorite mechanic about looking under the linkage for the numbers.  He said, "Are you really sure you want to do that?!?"  And gave me a look that would cut steel.  I don't suppose the fact that we had worked for two hours setting the passing gear, etc. had much to do with it.  Roll Eyes

If you are brave enough to pull it off for a look, let me know how it goes!

BTW, headed for my favorite show, swap, etc. in September.  Wish me luck!

Phillip

That's perfect! Thanks, Ed.  Grin
Thanks guys.  Grin
In case you haven't figured it out. I'm proving a point to a friend.  We've been arguing numbers and descriptions for days, but a picture is worth a thousand words!  Grin

No, installed is fine.  Thanks.
If either one of you (or anyone else) could post a picture that is more close up that would help.
I really appreciate it!

Does anyone have a good picture of an original 68 U63 or U69 (AM or AM/FM) radio?
Would appreciate the help!

How about that!  I was born a Blue Comet (Asheboro), but haven't lived there in years.  I'm in the Winston area now.  Have you ever been involved with any of the car shows they have in Asheboro?  There was a big AACA show there last year.
1962  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Charlotte Autofair on: September 01, 2006, 03:38:04 PM
I just show my car in the AACA show.  Some of my friends are Hornet's Nest officers, but I still have to work for a living and those positions are all filled by retired guys.  I have judged a bit, but again that takes time.

You're right about the track.  It's quite a site.  And you could get lost for three days just looking at all the vendor stuff.
1963  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 68 Battery Question on: August 31, 2006, 08:50:22 PM
Thanks, William!  I want to put an original style battery in my 68 with AC.  That helps.
1964  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 68 Battery Question on: August 31, 2006, 08:03:35 PM
In 68 (or any year) was the T60 Heavy Duty Battery tied to any other option (like AC or BB. etc.)?  Or was it just a cold weather start option?
1965  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Charlotte Autofair on: August 31, 2006, 07:33:00 PM
Take a look:

In April there were lots of 1 Generation Camaros for sale --in varying states of condition...
Come see me on Saturday in the AACA show.  Grin
