« on: March 11, 2020, 03:03:51 PM »
The Charlotte Autofair is April 2-5.
Let me know if you are coming.  I'll be out at the AACA show field at the front of the Speedway.  ;D

Not really... But I do think if you look long enough, you can see a few similarities to the Ford GT and other super cars. This is simply true because of the "nature of the beast".

Garage Talk / Going to PhillY?
« on: January 29, 2020, 03:43:07 PM »
The AACA National Meeting is in Philadelphia next week. Anyone else going?
Darrell Page and I are doing a seminar on Z28s 1967-2002 on that Friday morning.
Just checking to see if I need to watch for any of you.  If you are, stop by the HNR Auto Fair booth, I'll be there most of the time.

General Discussion / Re: Decisions Decisions

Charles, congratulations on your decision.
Actually, taking it back to "factory" is always a good decision in my book.  :D
If at some point your decide to sell the car, you have definitely done no harm.

Don't forget to post pictures when the work is done!

X2 to leaving them off.
But pics of what you're talking about would be helpful.

36 B is usually half way near the middle of the show field. It is a long row, because it is a large class.

Try a web search for a service manual. JVC has downloadable manuals online for many of their products.

36B is now one of the largest classes at Hershey.  Thanks to a lot of support and encouragement from the Chevy community.
I'll be there judging.

First, try isopropyl alcohol and don't leave any fuzz from the q-tip. That even worked on 8 track players. 👍

Maintenance / Re: Clutch shudder - tuning wuestions

X2 to Willliam's suggestion.  A bad motor mount does feel like a transmission problem on straight or automatic.  It is most noteable on acceleration.

Maintenance / Re: GoJak - any experience?
« on: July 29, 2019, 02:16:52 AM »
Bought a 4 pack set about five years ago. I use them at least once a month to move cars around at three different storage sites. I can even move my 19 foot 40 Buick with ease.  Yes, they are expensive,  but I've never had any trouble with them and they save me a lot of time and effort. That makes them worth it to me.
I will say, however, that Gary is right about two cheaper units and a floor jack for your situation. I did that for a year before purchasing the Gojaks.  Too much work for me and my situation.

I looked at a friend's pictures from that tour and learned two things.
1 By the next day at least one of the owners whose car was stolen had a new Mustang rental car to finish the tour.
2 Many of the cars are not even older cars, let alone hot rods... several station wagons and newer trucks.
Interesting...

Great picture. Chevrolet did a series of Navy related ads in the sixties that were outstanding.
Happy Birthday USA

July 12, 10th Classic Car Appreciation Day
Steele Rubber, which is near me, is holding an event that day. And there is one in Mathews, NC the next day. Anyone planning to attend a SEMA CCAD?
