Originality / Telescoping Antenna

So, did the telescoping antenna fully extend to a height of 30 inches?
Did it have the same ball tip/
Does anyone have a picture?

General Discussion / What's Your Favorite Local Cruise-In?

May brings cruise-in season for most of the US.
Just curious about where those of us with drivers like to go and hook up with other classic car folk.
In the Charlotte, NC area there are literally dozens of cruise-ins from May to October in Charlotte and several surrounding towns.
My favorite here is on Saturday afternoon at the South 21 Drive-In in Matthews on Highway 74.   The original South 21 is a local landmark. 
There is always a wide variety of cars and car guys... good food and good conversation.  Because 74 is a major highway, there are plenty of gawkers and talkers, too.

Just got back from my annual trip to the Seattle, WA area --a combination of business and catching up with some of my classic car friends in WA.
We went by the first Saturday of the month cruise in at Griots called Caffine and Gasoline.  A lot of great car guys are there with a wide variety of cars.

III. GENERAL POLICY
The objective of AACA judging is to evaluate an antique vehicle, which has been restored to the same state as the dealer could have prepared the vehicle for delivery to the customer. This includes any feature, option or accessory shown in the original factory catalog, parts book, sales literature, or company directives for the model year of the vehicle.

Never thought I'd see this happen, but here it is.  AACA is now open to dealer options, including those that would only be provided by the dealers.  Does not do away with "like it came from the factory", but it does open up the dealer options.

Also, for those of you that weren't happy without a muscle car class for Chevies (besides Corvettes) at AACA National meets, class 36B, Hi-Po Chevrolets, was well represented at Charlotte.

Maintenance / Loud Knock

Went for a ride in a friend's 69 today.  It has a loud knocking sound from the rear of the car that happens for several seconds after it hits a large bump.  The car doesn't jerk or pull and the sound does go away.  He told me a mechanic, who I know does good work, reworked the differential a few years ago.  Sitting in the front passenger's seat, it seemed to me like the sound was coming from the rear driver's side wheel area.  We checked the lug nuts, pulled the wheel and checked the rim.  I do think he needs new shocks.  Suggestions?

General Discussion / Property Tax Rate Schedule

In NC, property tax on automobiles is figured by "book rate' in each county.  If an effort to find more tax value, some counties have been using inflated values on classic cars.   
Our state legislature has recently passed a bill that gives us quite a bit of relief.  The gist of it is that if the car is registed with the state DMV and issued an antique car tag, then the value will be $500 or less. 
 How are taxes figured on your Camaro in other states?

General Discussion / Charlotte Autofair

Autofair is April 4-7
AACA National Meet on 6th. I'll be finding a team for unassigned judges at the breakfast.
Judging School on 5th. I'll be one of the guys in a yellow hat greeting.
The Spring Autofair is always the bigger event, and vendors, etc are up so far.
Ya'll come!

Originality / 67 or 68 SS 350 Picture?

Could someone please post a picture of a 67 or 68 SS 350 engine? Preferably in the car... as close to original as possible... without cowl plenum or induction, please....
Better yet, if you could email me a detailed one, PM me and I'll send you my email address.
I need it for a club discussion in mid-February.  Thanks in advance.
