16  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: Speedo cable length... on: September 22, 2012, 01:19:58 PM
Bumping this back to the top. My 68 Z is missing a speedometer cable so I'd like to know the answer to Randy's question. My car does have the #6476735 right-angle adapter, too, in case that changes things. Thanks, Tony

Hmm, not sure if the coil is bottomed out or not. I'll check. Thanks!
19  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 68 coil bracket w/ cowl plenum on: September 24, 2011, 06:01:57 PM
Hi all, is there any special coil bracket required for the cowl plenum option on a 1968 302? My coil seems to be interfering with the air cleaner. Thanks, Tony

21  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: Original long bolts for 1969 L/78 motor mounts on: January 16, 2011, 11:24:36 PM
James,
I think the Impala was an early June of 1969 build. It must have had the old style mounts on it but at the time I didn't have the foresight to check.

Has anyone narrowed down the timeframe when this stop bracket / bolt assembly was installed? I have the bracket and bolt from a 1969 350/255hp Impala that is identical to the 'Z/28' RPO graphic in the assembly manual that's posted earlier in this thread. Pic below:

I don't mean to hijack, but I would also be interested to know the correct gear for 4.56 gears, and whether it requires a reduction adapter.

FWIW, around here (metro Detroit) I pay $215 for cleaning and boring/honing. I would guess new pistons are in the $400-500 range.

Absolutely, as long as it's paid for and picked up within 2 weeks of the auction ending.

I own this engine. I did buy it from Mark K last summer and decided to tear it apart a couple of weeks ago before installing it in my car. Good thing I did because the bores are very tired. The rest of it looks pretty clean so I don't doubt that it was gone through 2-3k miles ago. Why it wasn't bored at that time is beyond me.
