I have an original POP from a 1969 convertible, 124679N520415, with some pretty special options, hoping the car still exists. Sold in the Metro Detroit area to the first owner in Dearborn, MI.

On FB, in Saginaw, MI.

Looks like it belongs to a Fathom Green Z that went through Barrett Jackson a few years ago.

Decoding/Numbers / 3908391A Pitman Arm
« on: June 11, 2023, 09:55:54 PM »
Hi everyone,

While cleaning my garage I found a 3908391A pitman arm still attached to the manual gearbox, from a 1968 Z subframe assembly I bought years ago from a guy doing a pro-touring front suspension. Is this pitman arm the same for power and manual steering applications (I believe the spline diameter is different, correct)? Can anyone help with market value estimates? Thanks!

124378n420747, I have your engine block. Still standard bore with no ridge, was in a Chevy II drag car until the mid 1970s and sat under various workbenches ever since.

Maintenance / '67 4-piston caliper pad rattle
« on: July 14, 2019, 07:19:10 PM »
I have a persistent issue on my '67 disc-brake GTO (sorry for the non-Camaro content but I know the system is essentially the same). I get a regular clicking noise from either one or both pads as they rock inside the caliper while driving. Is there any sort of anti-rattle spring, washer, etc that is supposed to be here to avoid this? The noise goes away completely when I apply the brake. Thanks!

Originality / Correct 68 RS lower belt trim hole placement
« on: September 02, 2018, 01:48:34 AM »
Hi folks,

I bought a nice 68 that has NOS quarters and fenders and was never finished. It came with all the NOS trim and clips and now I’d like to drill the holes properly. Does anyone have a source for the templates, or should I just follow the AIM?

Thanks,
Tony

General Discussion / 68 rear speaker package tray cutout?
« on: February 02, 2017, 01:32:10 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am reinstalling the rear speaker option on my '68 Z but do not have an original package tray for reference. Would one of you be able to share dimensions on the speaker cutout, and any tips for cutting the tray itself?

Thanks,
Tony

General Discussion / '69 original paint Z...leave as-is or repaint?
« on: June 08, 2015, 01:27:25 AM »
A friend of mine is interested in this '69 that has much of its original paint, but he'd like to respray it in a modern BC/CC. Personally, I think the paint is just too far gone to worry about any loss of value that might come from repainting it. I was hoping for some feedback to convince him that he shouldn't be too concerned about wiping away the originality by doing a limited cosmetic resto. What do you think?

Originality / 3915085 Muncie tag - ok for 68 Z?
« on: January 04, 2014, 08:23:03 PM »
Hi all,

I found a 3915085 assembly tag in a box of parts I got with my 68 Z. Is this the correct tag for a 68 Z28 with M21?

Thanks
Tonys
