Decoding/Numbers / engine code

On the front pad of one of my engines it has  V0327HN with a vin of 19lo49561. My questions are what was the  Engine Application Suffix Code HN used for ?  and any guesses on the partial vin (what vehicle)

Originality / Re: The correct starter
« on: April 04, 2007, 11:04:56 PM »
No. I had been using an old cast iron bell housing that the starter bolted into. I now am using the correct bell housing and needed a starter to bolt up to the block. By the way the one for the 396 with the staggered bolt holes worked.

Mine was doing about the same thing, except mine is a four speed. The shifter was locking in the reverse position, but the trans was in 1st, it always happened when going from 1st to reverse. a new shifter fixed mine.

I think I'll use the 14" one on my 69 350.
                                                        Thanks for the help

Originality / The correct starter
« on: April 03, 2007, 02:34:11 AM »
I have a 69 350 engine 14" flywheel,  Checker auto and autozone show no difference in starter part numbers for the 350 and 327. They show it should be DL3664S. That doesn't work. The one for the 396 looked closer DL3560S. What starter should I be using?

                                                             Thanks

I'll change to the smaller one, that seems to be what should be on it anyway.

My 1968 was originally a seafrost green exterior with an ivy gold interior, all was changed before I got it. In my mind I would think these two would clash. Does anyone have pictures of this combination they could post or send to me ? as I'm thinking about going back original.

Can't find any numbers on the 13" flywheel, took a piece of sandpaper to it still nothing. The 14" one is still on the engine I will look today. Where are you finding the numbers?

What size flywheel should a 68 327 4spd have? The one in my car measures 14" across from tooth to tooth. The one I got out of another 68 was 13" from tooth to tooth, both are using a 10.4" disk.
                                                         Thanks

I have two muncie transmissions, one of them has the speedo on the drivers side, the other is on the passengers side. Question is why?
