Decoding/Numbers / Re: Trim tag bona fides

Ya, bad photo.

The 4th option group says N, for the L35.
The 3K is the trim group option, which I thought was already included with the RS option. I haven't seen a 3KL sequence before.  I've seen 3L and 3SL and 3BDSL, but not 3KL.

Hmmm, I thought 12B might've been a bit early.

CRG

Is this a real trim tag?  The 3KL is suspect to me since I thought K was already part of the L (RS) option.  Input appreciated. Thanks

Bought an AM FM radio with the rear speaker set up from this guy.  Embarassed  to  admit  what I paid for it, but his work is very good - the radio looks good, but more importantly plays very well and I've had no problems with it at all in the past 2 years I've had it.

Nevertheless, given the price I paid he was supposed to send me the correct # rear speaker for my car.  I sent back the one he gave me, but he never sent the replacement and I'm out a couple hundred bucks.  Question this guy's integrity.

Restoration / Re: 1967 master cylinder and brake booster
« on: November 03, 2007, 05:54:52 AM »
The correct cast # is 5460346 and the suffix code is WT on the front pad.  I have been assured by many that all of these masters had bleeders - although the AIM for 67 shows one without.  Some of the MCs may also have had a Julian code stamped by the front brake line.

Don't know the answer to your second question, but on the 67 brake boosters for disc brakes the correct stamp number is 8515 and there was no Delco Moraine stamp on the face of the booster.  If your booster has such a stamp then it is not correct for a 67.

Originality / 12 bolt applications

Hey
Haven't posted in awhile, but was hoping someone might provide input

I know that it was possible to order a 3.73 rear end ratio (12 bolt) with a Powerglide in 67, but was it at all usual or even recommended?    3.73 strikes me as a bit aggressive for a 2-spd auto trans.

Thanks

OK that confuses the issue even more!  Haven't seen that style before.  As a 12A car presumably mine should be the same.

I've a similar situation - no #s on my PG pan either.  You may try removing the pan and checking the valve body.  I've seen photos from Munroe's PG book that indicate that its date coded.

Originality / Re: 1967 console seat belt clips
« on: January 28, 2006, 06:35:49 PM »
Nothing I have read or seen has indicated the clips were part of the Z23 option.  That said, my car does have the Z23, and my original console has the clips.

I read somewhere too that the clips were a later option, although mine is a 12A car.  May have been owner-installed I suppose, but I don't see it - they really are a bit of a useless piece.

Originality / 67 Owners Manual & Bag
« on: January 18, 2006, 07:07:32 PM »
Hi

Does anyone know what dates should be on a 67 owners manual and the bag to be "correct".   Does the date precede the car's date? If so, how far back?  Any info appreciated.

Thanks

Daniel, I also have an LOS car.  Which style of the two does your car have?

Hey
Fairly new to the site.  Hoping someone can settle some bets:

What is the correct color for a 67 bumper jack - grey?

On what side of the hook was the logo "Camaro 1967 UN" stamped - the inside facing the post or the outside?

Which style of jack in attached photo is correct for a 67, or are they both correct?

Any input appreciated. Thnx

Originality / QJet carb dates
« on: November 29, 2005, 08:23:15 AM »
Hi

Looked around the site but couldn't find the info I needed.

I wanted know what an acceptable variance is for a carb date from the car's build date.  The carb is a QJet 4bbl dated J6 (Sept 66).  The car's build date is 12A.  The car is a 67 ss. Based on the date, could this carb be original?  The carb numbers are otherwise correct for the car - 7037202.

Any help ppreciated.
