So I'm wondering why the owners of the original engine wouldn't want to sell? It's of no special significance other than to the car it came in originally. Holding it hostage?

Tag doesn't indicate anything except style trim anyway. Doesn't necessarily indicate SS.

Would they have been punched out at the assembly plant, or at the stamping plant? If I at stamping plant, I would think they would be identical.

Fisher and Chevrolet were totally independent of each other - 2 separate companies. No markings, etc. done on the Fisher side would relate to anything on the Chevrolet side. Chevrolet workers would not care or even know what Fisher markings meant.

That link by Red955i was very disturbing.

Which is why the block need to be inspected for the correct machining pattern that was left by broaching at the engine plant. I'm wondering if that is somehow being duplicated these days?

Here's a pic of the hoses and nozzles as they are now, and I'm thinking this was how they were together on the car before removal. Just for reference.

I have a 10B Oct 68 RS/Z. The headlamp washers have been removed for many years, but I have the hoses and parts still kind of together as they were removed. Before me. Attached is a pic of some of what I have. Are these the same clips under discussion here?

General Discussion / Re: Brake light problem
« on: October 12, 2021, 06:49:18 PM »
I think the turn signal switch is the culprit. Remember that the wires to the lights are power wires, and that the circuit is completed by grounding to the body. So I think the circuit logic for the brake lights goes like this: When the turn signal in not on the power is routed through the turn signal switch, bypassing the blinker device, to the brake light switch, and onto the brake light. The brake light stays lit continuously. When the turn signal is on the power is re-routed first through the turn signal switch, to the blinker device, and then to the brake light switch, and onto the brake light, causing it to blink instead of remaining lit continuously.

Replacement would not have had VIN number stamped. I would guess original.
