General Discussion / Re: Tire rub

Grab a wooden ball bat, stick it between the tire and the lip and roll the car while lightly pushing on the bat as it spins. It will work it’s way around the lip and gently roll it. No paint work needed, Old school method. Done it a few times loong ago, it does work rather well.

;D My Camaro’s L-30 is set up in Day-2 dress. All my born with components are restored and assembled on another 68 block. Mine uses the black painted lid & orange valve covers, but it displays much better with the chrome covers & lid… 8)

Here’s one of mine, the plating is what really makes these. They need to have the same finish as the valve covers. Both are a “flash” chrome with little thickness. You should be able to see the draw maks in the cover.  Tough to replicate. Here’s one on my display 68 327…

Interesting pic too. It’s hard to say with certainty, but it looks like the air cleaner is missing the black inlay near the outer edge..??

Interesting. Steve's 68 is really late - has a 69 radiator and 69 heads.

Undrilled 041’s at that..Lots of little oddities that late.

General Discussion / Re: OIL CHANGE SERVICE STICKERS
« on: January 19, 2023, 10:07:49 PM »
I also collect Gas & Oil stuff so naturally one the items I collect are service decals. I used a NOS Pure service sticker on mine. I attach them to a thin magnet so I can easily remove it. Day Two all the way!

Mine did the exact same thing, only mine bounced around right before it broke. I put mine back together again with a Oxy torch & silver solder. Hit it with a scotchbrite wheel and slid it back in. Been working the last 10+ years.
