Now that your car has been identified, how about posting some pics? I think we'd enjoy seeing the car.

Possibly 67 Nova also but would have shorter tubes.

And, make sure you're not losing vacuum around where the master bolts to the booster.

Warren may be suggesting 70 up Nova or service frame.

General Discussion / Early 67 subframe?

Saw this frame for sale. Think it's an early 67 due to the lack of the large holes up front? Not mine, BTW.

General Discussion / Re: Unrestored Z/10 anyone?
« on: March 23, 2018, 03:34:20 PM »
It just looks that way to me in the pictures, Gary. The driver's "A" pillar looks black and it looks like a tape line below the trim at the rear but it could be the shadows. I'm not really knocking the car or the ad but Steve had mentioned how the tops don't last long in the southwest.

Looks like the top is now painted.

Originality / Re: Searching for the "story"
« on: March 23, 2018, 10:31:26 AM »
bheston, I did the same thing years ago when I found my 69's original owner. I sent him a short, hand written letter, apologizing in advance if it were intrusive. I got a call from him the day after I mailed it. I got the "story" and ended up eventually driving it 100 miles to his house to let him see and drive it again. It was a great day. I hope the original owner is excited to hear from you and you discover a great story.

Unless you plan to drive in the rain or snow, or enjoy leaving dual stripes on the road outside your house, probably the only disadvantage to a non-posi at this point is if you drive onto the grass at car shows.

Jano, in your backing plate rear view pic, it looks like there are dimples where the shield was spot welded on.

Maintenance / Re: Correct spark plugs
« on: February 21, 2018, 11:30:23 AM »
R45TS are tapered seat plugs, don't use them unless you're using 70's heads with tapered plug seats. Your 69 "186" heads should use washer sealed plugs with 13/16" hex. As Everett said, AC R44, R45. Some Z28 guys are using Autolites with good results. Don't use platinum plugs.

Looks a lot like my 68 AND guaranteed for life!! I'll take it. :)

How many VIN digits are off? Just one, like a typo?
Probably wouldn't have gotten another car's engine from the factory.
