General Discussion / Re: Crossram and exhaust manifolds anyone?????

Aaron, do you think a close ratio trans could help your driveability?

I have manual steering in both my 68 and 69 Camaros. I guess I can feel the road better but it might just be me anticipating (paying more attention to) upcoming turns because of the effort. Its no wonder the steering wheels crack. The 68's manual drum brakes don't bother me much. I would rather have power steering in both but the 69 is sort of unique without it, having a/c... and a cracked steering wheel. :)

Would a 69 SS equipped with 14"x 7" wheels come with a 14"x6" spare wheel? What color would the spare wheel be?

General Discussion / Re: SS350 3 speed production figures

lcmc,
Could you post some more of the info on your car? options? I have a SS350 muncie 3speed also and I'd like to compare. Also, when you take the 3speed out I'd be interested in buying it if you would sell it. ;)

General Discussion / Re: 2009 Camaro Pictures
« on: January 14, 2006, 07:04:44 PM »
I am a big fan of all this retro design, the Mustang is HOT, the Challenger concept is cool but, what are they going to do with these cars 3, 5, 10 years down the road when they are due for redesign? I guess thats what appeals to me about the Camaro concept is, its not a total retro, it has an agressive modern stance, and it has neccessary first gen cues. Now, if GM can make the Camaro a functional, practical, affordable-to-own-and-operate performer, may we have a winner? We definitly don't need another SSR!
Think, If Toyota all of a sudden built a 2-door V-8 rear drive sedan with 300-400 hp and manual trans, would people buy it? Why?
Please don't start a import trashing session, thats not why I wrote this.

I hope it will be affordable for the working class.
A R/S (hidden headlight) grille would be nice as an option also.

There is some info and pictures of that "bolt on head package" in the book "Camaro untold secrets" by Wayne Guinn. Looks surprisingly similar to the SB2 (Small Block 2) head design used in NASCAR racing today.

Maintenance / Re: Brake Fluid Leak
« on: January 06, 2006, 03:52:17 AM »
A very very small leak usually won't spill a bunch more fluid under normal braking pressure. If the leak was large enough to make instant drops/puddles, the brake pedal would rapidly drop to the floor.
-Hope you fixed the leak!
Good luck

Remanufactured calipers (single piston) should be cheap and available at a local parts store, with or without pads.

good luck.

The Muncie 3-speed cable runs the same as the 4-speed, inboard from the steering column.

Don,
My carpet is gold. Its faded, but its gold. The seat belts, window crank knobs and console are all gold. Its awesome!
The console is neat because it is white plastic painted or dyed gold.
Your car looks nice. What color is the paint?

My 69 3-speed has a nice "stamped" clean cut rectangle hole with radiused corners. It uses a small bellows boot with a rectangle retainer surrounding a flat-stick muncie shifter.

Does that axle date seem a bit late for the car? I compared it to my 12B car #5583xx.
Engine:TII29HA
Axle: BS1121G 2

Ofcourse, thats assuming mine is original. :P

For comparison

I have a 68 RS with a 722 interior and its also two-tone...now. A previous owner covered the seats and the tops of the door panels with a dark green vinyl w/original pattern. The dash pad is also green. Everything else is still gold and it all looks pretty good. I intend to change it back to all gold eventually because I think the gold ext/gold int Camaro is hot!

Some states, like Maryland, will issue VIN plates for theft recoveries and "replicars".
