I get it. You want a big block convertible so you'd like to start with a big block car rather than mess with a SB car in decent shape. Some may see that body as unuseable or "not worth it" but, if you can do the job yourself (im assuming you can)it becomes far more rewarding and affordable than paying someone else. I'm on the other end... I have a 396/325 TH400 out of a 65 impala sitting on my garage floor and I am just dreaming of finding a 67 Camaro BB conv roller in decent shape that I can afford. Chances are, I'll end up selling the 396. Good luck with your project, it looks fun.

I have a spectra in my 69 and it looks and fits nice. They're priced well too I think. I just got the EFI version for my 68. They are both galvanized steel.

I think there is a 1" plug in the firewall to fill the unused speedo cable hole, depending on transmission.

Yeah, I'd definitely keep the wheel covers, even though I don't care for the look. My first impression was maybe from a 3/4 ton Ford, with the 7inch, 6 lug bolt circle.  :D

Cool car! Great color combo. Nice engine comartment with the smog equipment, interesting diverter with the 180* outlets. Shift knob is cool too. Don't know if I like the wheel covers or the exhaust though.  :P

Great! sounds like a neat car. My car has an original Muncie 3 speed too and I've been curious what the original shifter boot is supposed to look like. Any chance you could post some pictures of your car? Thanks.  :)

I love the yellow and orange interiors! Yellow/yellow, black/yellow and orange/orange are fantastic. I'd love to have one.

Anyone know if their L48 block is 2 bolt or a 4 bolt main?

I don't know yet if mine is, but the 69 "HN" block that I have is a 2 bolt. That was a 350/300 4bbl with 041 heads and a 388 block.

Yeah sort of. Its plated but its not high lustre. I dont know enough about the plating process to know how its done, but I'll say only the top is chrome.

Mine still has the lock cylinder on the right front fender, the door jamb switches and the trunk lid switch. The previous owner took the siren off when he sold the car to me.

Decoding/Numbers / Fan Clutch Date Stamp

I have a fan clutch with a stamp on the water pump flange that reads B0372SC. I'm having trouble decoding it using the julian method. I picked it up used because it had a nice looking fan on it so its not real important. Thanks for the help.
