Restoration / Re: Found a direct replacement for the door glass roller
« on: October 08, 2018, 05:24:31 PM »
Great detailed info Mike!
I had to change a roller in my 68 years ago and I just pressed the new rivet in. I ordered one from Rick's back then, I think. I'm not sure I thought of just snapping the roller on the old stud.

Thanks for this info. I've been considering LEDs for my 68.

Just don't use LEDs in place of incandescent in your new vehicles. The little circuit board in them confuses the BCM feedback circuits and the module stays awake, possibly causing a dead battery.

I think they were all 3/8" in 68. And one piece.

There's some discussion in this thread.

I thought the term started with the 64 GTO.

Muscle car, posi or not, IMO.

Sounds like the A/C system and/or fans is robbing power from the fuel pump. Make sure there is adequate sized wire for each of the circuits, possibly from circuit breakers or a separate fuse block close to the battery. I guess those are the first things I'd check.

Pretty sure the letters on the pistons is for sizing.

Kurt, Bentley, or Nick, would there be corresponding letter marks or stamps on the block to match piston to bore? I remember 4.0 Jeep 6cyls had hand written letters, A,B,C,D, to indicate finished bore size range.

I used a single link in my 327 which gets run hard on occasion and will probably use one in my L48. I had a straight cut gear drive when I was a kid but I threw that obnoxious thing in the garbage.

Use either, just don't get the cheapest one.

Don't be ashamed, Steve. Helps remind me I'm not the only one that has one sitting. I'd be ok with the buzzard. The "barn car detectives", however...

I'd say mid to late 90's. Judging by the Sunfire and the 4th gen Camaro.

That 68/69 reminds me of one I saw in a magazine a long time ago that had a mid engine(behind the seats) 455 or something.
