Jason,

You have to find that guy on Camaros.net.  I hope you find the engine.

Good luck, and say hi to Myron Lee,

Paul,

There were punched from the factory and true position was right on the money with every origianl car that I've seen.  There is no easy way I can explain this templet to you.  It has to be taped on the fender a certain way.  Maybe John Z can shed some light on how the factory punched the holes in the fenders.  I have used this tracing several times and it's right on the money.  Did my 67 turquoise Z28, and many more.

Others have tried to work with the assembly manual.  Hard to do.  The best way for the best results is to make a tracing from an original RS fender and overlay the tracing paper on the new fender.

RS emblems do go on the fenders and it's very tricky to install them in the true position.  In all the years I've been judging, 1967 RS emblem installation looks like a train wreck on most restored cars that I've seen.  I have original tracings but I will not send them out.  Maybe I can make a copy somehow.  It's very time consuming to do this right.

Restoration / Re: Hurst Shifter

Sounds like you have a Camaro Hurst shifter.  If so, there is a repro Camaro linkage kit that is very nice to mount this shifter.  Regarding the removal of the handle, stick a feeler gauge down between the shim and the handle and pull the handle out.  That's it.  If it does not come out, use a small punch and hammer to drive it out.

Sounds like a plan, we will be back!  My wife and I enjoy this event.

I am leaving for Donahue, IA next Thursday for another car inspection.  Back to the cold.

Have two here in Eldersburg, MD.  One race car and an all original 13,000 mile survivor including original paint, interior and NOS 7.35x15" tires w/ full docs.

Also of special note, Dave & Ben Wenzel still own their 1967 Z28 which was bought new and won the 1967 NHRA US Nationals.  Ben and Dave Wenzel are still racng this car in NHRA Stock Eliminator.  They are still making history with this car and plan to run it in 2007.  This one is a true piece of motorsport's history.

That's right.  He was the manager.  There are photos of all of the managers from the Surf in the lobby.  His photo is there and he was interviewed in the PBS Buddy Holly special, Reminiscing.

They are resellers, the OH company is the only show in town.  Too bad!
