Originality / 69 Camaro Z/28 front sway bar and power steering bracket
« on: April 04, 2006, 01:32:45 AM »
Two questions. Front one inch factory sway bar ground off at ends appears to be done to clear upper ball joint nut, was this done at factory or by someone over time. Ads in Classic catalog show copies of originals that look like they have the ground off ends also.  Also I have a two piece power steering pump bracket the second piece bolts between the engine block and the motor mount, is this correct I am hearing conflicting answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

« on: December 28, 2005, 07:23:15 PM »
Hi does anyone know what front buckets I could buy that would bolt right in. The idea of changing any of the metal or any welding on the Car is not an option in my book. Help would be greatly appreciated on this one Thanks Guys or any Chicks that have one of these. Mine is 69  stock 4 speed with console and console has to stay. Im taking mine to PIR this spring and am gonna spank all foriegn trash that wants to step up to the line. Hate hearing them talk about fantasy horsepower that has no Torque.

Also do the cutout areas in the tailpan for the backlights have a flanged area at the bottom of cut tapering to flush at top or is whle cutout area flush to tailpan face Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 69 Camaro it has the original power steering box. I have three different mounting brackets for the power steering pump. Were there any differences between small block brackets for the pump. And is there anywhere I can get an exploded picture of the bracket setup for the pump. Help on this one would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys

General Discussion / 69 Camaro Tilt column
« on: November 03, 2005, 09:38:01 PM »
Hi, I bought a 69 Camaro a couple years ago. I have done a lot of research. It came from the factory with a tilt column. The guy who owned it before me had a rebuilt column put in. He and the guy who did it threw away the old tilt. They did not have a clue about the worth of having the original parts.  My question is this, are there any connectors or parts that would be underdash to signify any difference between tilt and non tilt cars. Or am I screwed and the only backup I have is the word of the previous owners. One I do not know the Other that I bought from has no reason to lie and has been helpful since I purchased the car. I didn't ask any questions prior to purchase and only looked at the car for mybe 10 seconds before purchasing. He has no reason to lie whatsoever about the car. It is a shame they tossed the column as only a little ove 6000 out of 240,000 had it. Thanks
