Here's a pic of the grille on my X66 Canadian car equipped with a block heater (i.e. the cord sticking out):

That DOES look closer Deejaygee! Any idea what magazine it came out of so I can start searching?

Not a clue.

Start with the obvious. Check choke operation while engine is warming up, and adjust if necessary. If running a points distributor, check and adjust the dwell; then timing, then idle speed. Test idle speed with car in gear.

I think this is the trim tag for your car:

Dude, get the factory assembly manual. All this stuff is covered in great detail there.

General Discussion / Re: 1967 Camaro LA VIN number 16 Body #1
« on: January 27, 2007, 08:18:35 PM »
Larry Christensen (sp?) mentioned to me last week that he used to own a 67 Camaro convertible, also body #1. Apparently, Fisher body numbering sequence was different for coupes vs convertibles. He doesn't recall what the VIN was, and he doesn't know where the car is now.

The car at B-J was freshly restored but pretty plain option-wise. Panel fit, esp the front fenders and hood, was way off. The rear wheelwells were pretty hacked up with daylight showing through large rectangular coutouts, weird. I remember being surprised at the finish in the trunk and on the underside. I don't recall if the car at auction had emblems but I remember them missing on the photos.

True fact: I was checking the Barrett-Jackson car out in the staging lanes and, after a heartfelt appeal from yours truly, the seller finally agreed to pull the "caution fan" decal off the radiator shroud.

Originality / X66 headlamp bezel color
« on: December 19, 2006, 03:10:25 PM »

My 69  Camaro is a hugger orange non-rallysport X66 which makes it a big block car (i.e. black grille) without the style trim.

Can someone confirm what the finish would be for the plastic headlamp bezels or surrounds ?

There are four choices from what I can tell: Argent or black bezels with or without chrome strip around headlamp.

My guess is the bezel color matches the grille color and the chrome strip shows up only with style trim option.  ???

A "Teletype" or "Teleprinter" monospaced font should do the trick.

I'm a loyal Rick's customer. I like that they only do first generation, less confusing trying to find something. Also, great pictures online and in the catalog -- worst case, you find out what that mysterious part is for and what it's called.

Originality / Re: 67 spoiler question
« on: October 23, 2006, 03:47:15 AM »
Even though spoilers were not available as an RPO (regular production order) on 1967 Camaros, they were certainly installed--and a lot earlier than many people think.

Here's a photo taken October 1967 of the 67Z prototype car. Photo appeared in Feb 1967 issue of Hot Rod magazine:

Invoice dated Jan 26/67 for a Gorries Chevrolet "Black Panther" Z28, calling for "spoiler":

Early calendar year 67 ad for Yenko Chevrolet Super Camaro, offering "Fiberglas rear deck with spoiler":

Another ad from Yenko, this time showing a rear photo of their 1967 Z28 "Stormer", complete with rear spoiler:

So, to answer the original poster's question, it's possible your spoiler was dealer installed, but not probable. The above are exceptions to the rule.
