Originality / Kick panel speaker grill question.
« on: September 27, 2013, 12:38:28 AM »
Were the kick panel speaker grills the same for all models in 1969 or did each model have an exclusive. I picked these up but not sure if they are correct for my Camaro.

Decoding/Numbers / 1100837 9 F 17
« on: September 19, 2013, 11:13:34 PM »
Can I safely say that a 9 F 17 1100837 alternator is too late for my 69 Z28? My car is an 06A with a 653 VIN. I need an alternator and I can afford this one that's on ebay but I don't want to jump on it if the date isn't going to be inline. What would I need if that date isn't correct? I'm thinking a 9 E 23 would be correct.

Originality / 1969 OEM AM antenna question.
« on: August 05, 2013, 09:07:22 PM »
Hello everybody. I have a question or two, or three about the OEM factory AM antenna's for the 69 model year. Were the AM antenna's the same for A, B, and F models? If so was the tip plain or did they all have a groove middle way around it? Reason I'm asking is because I bought an AM mast for my 69 Impala that I'm going to assume is a correct oval type for at least the 69 Impala but not sure if it is correct only because I have never seen one for comparisons sake. This mast I bought has no groove around the tip. Is there something on antennas here on CRG? I didn't see anything unless I just haven't toughed on it yet. Just being curious. Was there a replacement that just had the plain tip?

Originality / Exhaust heat valve question.
« on: July 24, 2013, 04:01:08 AM »
Is the heat valve the same for all 69 small blocks with 2" and 2 1/4" headpipes or are there two different valves? What about flanges? I don't have them and need them. Found both a valve and 2 flanges but need to make sure they will fit the factory manifolds and exhaust for a 69 DZ engine.

Restoration / Radiator cap.
« on: July 12, 2013, 03:28:56 PM »
Looking at my spare cap today, was this used in 69? The rubber seal is bad as you can see in the pic. Are these rebuildable and who does it? Or can I rebuild it myself? I don't really want it restored to look pretty just rebuilt if possible.

Originality / Exhaust manifold bolts.

Are the exhaust manifold bolts all the same length for the 69 small block and other then the french locks were there any washers used at all? Looking to get new bolts for my 69 Z engine but need this info on washers beforehand. Thanks guys.

General Discussion / 350/325?
« on: July 08, 2013, 03:29:46 PM »
I was looking at my 69 Chassis Service Manual today, specifically Q-jet part numbers and saw a reference for 350 (325) horsepower carb number 7029207 manual trans. Can I assume this is for a Corvette 350 or was it used in anything else? I question this because someone has this carb on ebay saying it's for a 350/300 and that number isn't correct for that engine. 255 LM1 and 300 is 9203 for manual and 9202 for auto.

Originality / Wiper blade refills
« on: July 05, 2013, 10:54:28 PM »
Anybody have a source for wiper blade refills for our cars? I need a 15" and a 16" set. There is a whole blade available from Trico but haven't seen just the refills anwhere. I'm afraid waiting for NOS to show up on ebay isn't for me.

So what I have found here so far is RF-15 for the 69 Camaro and the same was used on the 67 Corvette. I was looking on the Paragon website but didn't see a reference to refills though, just the blade with the rubber.

General Discussion / 69 Window Sticker
« on: June 18, 2013, 04:56:15 PM »
Hey guys. This is a pic of a window sticker for a 69 Impala survivor I just bought. I haven't got the car yet and I was told it has a lot of original paperwork including the POP that original purchaser had saved. I was told the FONT is somewhat different compared to other window stickers. Anybody with experience that can tell me for sure? I'm not too concerned if it's real or a reprint, but if it is correct for the Tarrytown, N.Y. plant that will be a plus.

Originality / 69 headliners
« on: June 15, 2013, 01:39:58 AM »
Have there been any instances of the headliners being wrong in the Camaro and Firebirds. Firebirds used the Perforated and the Camaro used the Bedford correct? Anybody ever seen a Perforated headliner in a Camaro? They both we built at the same plant in 69 correct?

Originality / Exhaust manifold head pipe parts
« on: May 18, 2013, 02:11:13 AM »
Hey guys, I'm getting a list of parts together to connect my head pipes to the exhaust manifolds so I'll have them handy. What all do I need? So far I need to replace the heat valve on the passenger side. I think I'm just gonna go with the spacer on this. I'll need a stud kit for sure. Also I think I'll need 2 donut gaskets, inserts for the donut gaskets and a flat gasket for the spacer. Does that sound about right? I might go for new hardware and french locks as well. Let me know will ya? Thanks.

Oh yeah, who has all this stuff in one shot to buy? I haven't really looked yet.

General Discussion / Jack date question
« on: May 06, 2013, 03:51:46 PM »
Would an 06A early June car have a 9E jack or a 9F jack? I just bought what was supposed to be a 9E but it is a 9F and I don't know if I should keep it or return it.

Thanks guys.

Originality / Non dripper valve cover questions.
« on: May 05, 2013, 08:24:35 PM »
Hey guys. Needs some help here please. I've been doing a search on the non dripper valve covers and found loads of info here, TC and online. I picked up a set of non drippers, both #418 and have 3" notches for the intake. Did all the 418 covers have a dull finish? Looking at my set there seems to be a slight shine to them but not like the new ones I see offered online, ebay and so on. Did the dull finish get lost in the aging process? I'm just curious. I'm not sure if I want to leave them as is or send them out for reskinning. They are really stained and after reading most of the search stuff I found I don't think I want to touch them.

I'm trying to find pricing on having them reskinned as well, but it seems like that is not noted anywhere I have looked. I want to compare prices before I commit to sending them to anyone. So, if anyone can clue me in on prices and who has the best price I can at least make an educated guess who gets to do them. There must be a high end price and a low end price and what they look like. My car is unrestored so I really don't think the high price reskinning is what I need.
