Im thinking of getting a stencil made so that u can overlay it and spray it on with adhesion promotor so it will stick and last.

I need to check to see if the DELCO lettering is the same on all the batteries that we are doing - If you want to send to me your exact height and length of the wording and a pic, ill check with my other ones and see if I can get the stencils made up.

You can email me at edm@montiniaz.com

From the above pics - it is hard to tell - and from what I can see, there is a difference in the loop area at the rear of the spring, where the shackle mounts...orig has more of an arch.  Having said that - I think the look is right on and most importantly - if they have the right height!

Im temped to get a set fronts and backs from Bob.  Does he have any special discounts etc going on for the holiday?

On this discussion on springs - im getting ready to restore a 69Z...car came partially assembled - however im going to start over.  It has new springs in the front and the back - however I don't know anything about them.  Car was started back in 1980 and im thinking it has higher lift springs in the front and rear, but do not have any definitive idea.  Motor is currently out of the car as well.

Im thinking instead of gambling on the fact these springs COULD BE correct, I should go for a new set from Camaro Specialities....right thinking??  or can I tell once I get them out if they are correct, orig or some replacements?  Appreciate the thoughts....

PS - this was a very good thread and I lover the idea of the shark coating.....those results are fantastic!

Has anyone matched the orig color on the DELCO Script and the Caps ?

I'm going to paint the text and caps on my repo battery to look like the original and
would like to get a color match if anyone has this available?

Thanks a lot Lloyd (Edgemont)  for giving me extra work to do!!

Originality / Re: Headlamp Washers on a NON RS car
« on: November 30, 2013, 03:49:05 PM »
Like I said - I saw a restored car and the standard grill had the holes in it, but not the washer nozzles.  I asked the guy said the grill was orig to the car, however he got the car in pieces and
restored the car.....so I can only assume.  I would also assume he should have a WW motor with the appropriate HL washer pump but I did not ask.

Pretty rare option..

NoYenko - the standard grills do NOT have holes already drilled for the washer nozzels, however the grill retainer does.

Has anyone seen a NON RS car with HLamp washers installed on a standard grill?

I assume this was an option available originally?

I have recently seen a non RS grill with the washer nozzles holes drilled - car did not have the RS washer pump, but it was a restored car so hard to tell what was original.

Thoughts?

Related to the plug wire stands for a 69Z - i believe earlier someone stated the intake bolts for these items are painted/brushed orange?

is this correct for the 69Z?  maybe 70 but im having a hard time believing this with some of the survivor cars i looked at.

Jerry - thoughts?

We are restoring a 69 RS SS Convert, 350/300 hp auto car.

For rims we are going with the early YA's - dated nov of 68.

Car is a 12C car/Norwood

Question - related to tire options - looking in the options list i see 2 option codes

PY4 - F70 x 14 Special Belted White Stripe

PY7 - F70 x 14 Special White Stripe

What is the difference,  Who was the manufactures and what was the white strip width.

Also - any pics appreciate.

Thanks CRG for the space
