316  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Radiator, recore or replace. on: October 07, 2007, 02:56:03 PM
A good friend has a radiator shop. A good one can tell you how your radiator is flowing and whether in their opinion it would be the cause. An infrared scope could detect a cold spot{ blocked} when the rest of the radiator is hot{open}. That being said, only a GM core will look like a GM radiator. He recored mine with his favorite core, it works qite well, but it doesn't look like a GM core because it's manufactured differant. Check everything else, do NOT go to an aluminum radiator. He says they have less surface cooling area and sometimes cool even worse then a GOOD copper/brass. It's just an opinion!

After a quick look at the site, I do not see mufflers advertised. Where do you get a good muffler that will fit this system? Thanks again for the info.

I'm about to buy exhaust for my '67 396. Where did you purchase yours? I guess the big question is, did it fit?

I couldn't get your link to work, but I have a 960 with the pastic extender on the side for about 15 years. I wouldn't be without it. TIP is a very good Co to buy from.

Have you used an infrared on the radiator. I know 2 differant radiators and still overheating SHOULD be soemthing else. Have you removed the condensor? Timing OK? Try one thing at a time.

Sorry I tried to mislead you. Stuff gets jumbled up in the grey matter sometimes. '67 doesn't have the size.

How about the tire presure decal on the glovebox door? What's the tire size?

Thanks Jerry. The pics of mine sure look black to me, the reflection is differant from the valve covers. The original owner doesn't remember.
326  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / black air cleaner top on: July 09, 2007, 08:30:42 PM
At GM Carlisle there was a '67 BB car in the club building with a black top open element air cleaner. Is this right and what would it have been on? I think I've only seen black tops on '65 BB Corvettes. Thanks.

OK, let's see, you took the car apart and lost the trim tag. Now you want to have someone tell you what options were on the car when you took it apart.. And you have THAT avitar?? I wouldn't expect too much help.
328  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Where to find RPO codes? on: June 26, 2007, 03:36:06 PM
The Camaro White Book , by Mike Antonick, lists all the RPOs for every year. You have to know which ones are on your car. I'm sure there are other sources too.

Yes, and sometimes they are behind the front fenders and not on the firewall in plain sight,

JM
That's where my '67's are. Seems most every '67 at Carlisle had them showing above the heater and M.C. though.

My count was 5 '67 Z-28s, pretty impressive.
