There's a guy that advertises in Hemming's, way cheap does nice work.  For the vanity crowd, there's a guy on Fordbarn that laser cuts whatever number or letters and tig welds "new"  YOM vanity plates.
318  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: Exhaust manifold removal... on: January 08, 2008, 02:15:19 PM
If you have no room for an exhaust manifold exchange you certianly won't have room for headers. I'd attack from the bottom. Juice everything up good with Gibbs a fw days before your removal.
319  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1967 Camaro 396-325 air cleaner on: December 24, 2007, 11:17:46 PM
My 67 la built l35 pace car had an open element and the lid was painted black.
Is the black semi-gloss? That's what my pictures look like. Thanks.

The original owner of my 325 automatic car gave me a few pics of my car when it was a few weeks old. It definatley shows an open element air cleaner and chrome valve covers. BUT the air cleaner appears to be black, not chrome. I've seen a few  snorkels on what seem to be original cars too. A yellow low mileage '67 at Carlisle is one that comes to mind.
321  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Camaros at AACA museum on: December 01, 2007, 03:03:24 PM
For anyone that's interested there's 6 Camaros on display at The AACA museum close to Hershey, Pa. Three are first generation, a '67 Pacer, Bruce Larson's '68 funny car, and a '69 Pacer. The rest are newer, most from the GM Heritage Collection. I'm not sure exactly how long they will be there, but if anyone is interested I can find out. The real special display is pickup trucks along with the regular display of cars and buses. At least 4 of the trucks are Chevies, a  6 cylinder '55 Cameo, '59 El Camino and a 454 El Camino are three of the 4 I remember.

324  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Rick's new catalog on: November 05, 2007, 05:23:30 PM
I did not know this.  Thanks.
325  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Rick's new catalog on: November 05, 2007, 06:33:53 AM
Rick's was at GM Carlisle this past summer. I called and asked them to bring specific parts so I could pick them up there. They didn't bring ANY parts, just 6 or 7 cars. I'd think they could have found local cars that had used their parts. They also posted a sign that if you ordered there they would pay the shipping. The sign didn't explain that didn't include truck shipping, like quarters. What a wasted effort.

Don't you know anyone that lives close and you trust to look with YOUR interest in mind?
327  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Hershey AACA on: October 19, 2007, 02:30:11 PM
Was anyone else there? I talked to the owner of an excellant '67 red Z-28 on Sat. Pretty strange options, bench seat with fold down rear. I didn't take any pics, but there are several on AACA in the gallery.

329  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Radiator, recore or replace. on: October 07, 2007, 02:56:03 PM
A good friend has a radiator shop. A good one can tell you how your radiator is flowing and whether in their opinion it would be the cause. An infrared scope could detect a cold spot{ blocked} when the rest of the radiator is hot{open}. That being said, only a GM core will look like a GM radiator. He recored mine with his favorite core, it works qite well, but it doesn't look like a GM core because it's manufactured differant. Check everything else, do NOT go to an aluminum radiator. He says they have less surface cooling area and sometimes cool even worse then a GOOD copper/brass. It's just an opinion!

After a quick look at the site, I do not see mufflers advertised. Where do you get a good muffler that will fit this system? Thanks again for the info.
