Then that would put you in the Pampers/Gerbers/Johnson's Baby Shampoo category to some of the rest of us.  ;D

Didn't special colors also have to be from the same year too?

Phil, several years ago I challenged Impalas with 427 and 3-2's, which was in the book. I couldn't get a straight answer but it eventually disappeared. Don't rock the boat!!  If you remember the VW class I knew people involved with that fight. ALL VWs are now in one class, water and air cooled, buses, cabriolets, everything from 1936 up.

Phil, I just read the thread and the one about HPOF. Now I remember why I quit reading those threads. Nothing to do with Camaros, but I think I know which car Trimacar was talkiing about. It's had a total repaint and interior and still got an original HPOF award. Don't want this thread to go on a tangent so I'll stop.

Phil, does that mean all early Camaros will be in one class? Six cylinder and Yenco alike? I had not gotten this memo. Please explain more.

It still looks REAL good. Jon, was Ron able to enlighten you on the original shade of blue? Was it a special mix?

I was guessing they were correct, I just don't remember them. Is this the same Ron Fournier that wrote the book on welding and metal fabrication? If it is I would recommend everyone  should read it.

Thanks Jon. What's with the red door panels? Was the original like that, I forget?

Those numbers make you appreciate what the boys in the F.A.S.T. series do on street tires. Yea, I know the guts are premium but they still look stock.

When Hot Rod had their 75th? ann. they admitted faking ALL the statistics from the red SS350 back in '67. I think the articles went on for about 4 months, first with headers then slicks, etc. I'm sure you remember the cover with the parachute? Then a 396 that was actually a built 427 handed to them by Chevrolet. It was all fake. I have not believed any magazine article since.

If you haven't done it contact the mechanic that took the stuff off. He MAY still have it. Cool for you to find the original owner.

It was also pretty common to buy a new air cleaner top through parts department without the decal. They were cheap.
