General Discussion / 1967 Z
« on: February 16, 2024, 08:33:35 PM »
https://barnfinds.com/rare-first-year-1967-chevrolet-camaro-z28/   No connection. Wish I could own it. There was a white '67 at Hershey for sale about 22 or 23 years ago, wonder if it's the same one.

Thanks for the new members cars pictures. Nothing against the '69 but the '67 and '68 are my favorite colors for those years.

I have an original GM air conditioning compressor that I needs seals installed. It works fine, just leaks from front seal. Does anyone know of a reliable source?

Thanks to all that make this site worthwhile. Even if it evolves into pissing contests every once in a while I have learned a lot.

Ok, I am sure he won't brag about it so I will. Chick won a very important award in AACA. It's in the new issue, he and his car won Factory High Performance East award. Cool beans and congratulations to you.

I thought someone had started a thread about it but couldn't find it. I went today. Not a lot of cars totally but the ones there were excellent. I am hoping someone posts pictures. I had not seen a '69 in NC blue before, I like it. Mostly Yencos, Z-28s and big blocks which is ok. Had a good day with my grand daughter.

General Discussion / AACA board of directors
« on: September 16, 2018, 11:50:11 PM »
OK, guys, pay attention. He would never toot his own horn so I will do it for him. Our own Phil, Lakeholme, is in the running for a seat on the board of directors of AACA. We need some new blood and Phil would be a good choice. If you are not an AACA member, you should be and you can join for half price for the rest of the year AND have the privilege of voting in Phil to an important position. There are some very important decisions to be made in the next few years in AACA. The AACA needs some new ideas of how to encourage younger members to join. The new building is going to take lots of thought to pull it off and not put the club in the hole financially. If you choose not to become a member encourage anyone you know that is a member to vote for Phil. Good luck to you, buddy.

Restoration / rusty chrome
« on: August 28, 2018, 10:38:44 PM »
I just cleaned my BB valve covers. They are decent driver quality but the factory chrome was poor. In the grooves at the bolt holes there is very little chrome, platers call it a shadow where it does not plat correctly because of the shape. I used paper towels soaked in white vinegar . Laid them in place about a day or two and it removed almost all traces of the rust down to bare metal. I scrubbed it with cleaner and a stiff brush. Then I dabbed a little aluminum paint where it was bare and blended it and they don't look too bad. Guess I will see how long to lasts.

So let's hear about the Mountain Green BB on the homepage. Looks just like mine is supposed to look.  And even about '68 Z. And I wish I would have found the '69, it great the way it is.

Boy Howdie, you came up with some winners for this month. Would like to see a few more pictures of both the '67 and '69. Love the '68, have always been a fan of Corvette Bronze. Thanks for all the effort that goes into CRG!
