Restoration / What options came with the Z21 style trim group?
« on: April 08, 2006, 03:04:23 AM »
If you ordered the Z21 style trim group, what options did you get?

I believe these are the options, but is this all?  Did you have to get all of them or could you mix and match?  Was the fender and quarter panel pinstripe included with this style trime group option?  what determined if you got this pinstripe?  What about the blacked out rocker sills?

Z21 included the following?  Is this correct?

Chrome roof drip rails
quarter panel louvers
wheel well moldings
lower rocker molding
chrome headlight rings
blacked out rocker sill
fender and quarter panel pinstripe

I hope this is the proper place to post this.

Okay, I know it seems desparate, but I really want a 69 Camaro Coupe.  If anyone out there who has one and would like to trade for a really nice pickup truck, please contact me.  I will consider all trades, up or down (From nice to beat up condition).  I am looking for at least, a decent low rust body 69 Camaro.  It can have some rust, but nothing resembling the Titanic please.   I don't care about the interior at all and it doesn't even have to have an engine or transmission.  Plain jane coupe is fine too, it does not have to be an SS or RS or anything.

I have a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup.  It is an SLT (top of the line) 4 door step side, silver metallic exterior. This is the new body style.  Grey leather interior with captains chairs and console.   It has a bed liner and tonnea cover.  It is completely factory original and brand new tires and brakes recently installed.  It has every option available that year, this is a top of the line pickup, not stripped down.  Leather interior, cassette/CD player, dual power memory seats with seat heaters, 4 wheel disc ABS brakes, OD automatic transmission, and 5.3 litre V8 etc...  Has 47,000 miles and still looks like new.  I bought this truck new and it was extemely well maintained.  I really want a 69 Camaro coupe.  I don't drive the truck much anymore and will probably trade it in for a new car if no one wants it.

Again, if you are interested, please email me with what you have and some pics.  I will send pics of the truck as well.  This truck is very very nice and still looks new.

General Discussion / Adding console gauges and tach for 69 Camaro
« on: March 30, 2006, 11:50:15 PM »
I would like to add a tach and console gauges to my car.  Are the aftermarket gauges and tach good to use or should I look for original?  Second, I see there are two wiring harnesses to get.  Do I need both?  Can I use my existing underdash harness and tie in the console gauge harness or should I get the underdash harness as well?  How does the underdash harness install?  Do I have to remove my exisitng one?  How does the new harness plug in and install and how difficult?  Do I need a harness for the tach as well or is it included?  If anyone has done this conversion, please let me know of your experience.  Any and all help is always appreciated.

Originality / What is the color of the door jamb strikers?
« on: February 02, 2006, 03:25:03 PM »
I have a 69 Camaro.  The door jamb strikers are currently painted the color of the car.  Were these painted from the factory or were they installed later and are they a different color?  If so, what color, natural, silver, black, etc?

Maintenance / TH350 Transmission troubleshooting
« on: February 01, 2006, 01:26:48 AM »
I completely rebuilt my TH350 in my 69 Camaro about 6 months ago (about 500 miles).  It worked great after that.  However, for tyhe last 3-4 weeks, when I first start it up and shift it into drive, 2nd or 1st gear. I hear the transmission engage, or some sort of clunk type noise in the tranny (but not the driveshaft), and there is no response.  The car acts as if it is completely in neutral, even though I am in a forward gear.  I rev it up and nothing.  If I go to reverse immediately after start up, there is no problem and it goes in reverse and backs up. After a few minutes of warming up, the transmission will then go into drive and act perfectly fine.  This is happening all the time.  As long as the tranny is warm, no problems.  The second it cools down, then only forward gears do not work.  There is plenty of fluid.  What do I need to look at?  All help is appreciated.

General Discussion / Reproduction 1969 Camaro Coupe Shells
« on: January 28, 2006, 05:29:54 AM »
For the 1969 Camaro I see they have the reproduction shells available in convertible.  Has anyone used these yet?  Have the hardtops been made yet as well?  Do they include the rear frame rails?  I am considering buying one if they have them since you can't seem to buy a coupe anywhere that is even remotely not trashed for a decent price.  Also, what are the titling issues if you build one from scratch?

Thanks,

Steve

This appears to be a scam to me.  The guys got a good rating, but it looks like it was artifically built up that way with a bunch of cheap auctions.  The private bidders only seems odd too.  I am probably going to stay away unless I can get the seller to allow me to go see the car before bidding.  Any thoughts from you guys out there?

General Discussion / Looking for a 1969 Camaro coupe
« on: January 24, 2006, 07:17:53 AM »
Hope this is the correct place to post this request.  I am looking for a 69 Camaro coupe.  I am looking for something with a good body and clean title.  I do not mind some rust...I just don't want to restore the titantic.  What I am looking for can have but does NOT need a motor or transmission or interior.  I am not looking for anything with a lot of options either.  If it has those things, and you still want to sell, then let me know and we'll see what can be worked out.  My biggest concern is a decent body that does not have a ton of rust through the metal and nothing that has had bad bodywork where there is more bondo then metal.  I am looking for a fairly priced car.  I have cash and looking for a quick sale.  If you think you have a 69 that you can not finish or no time to get to or maybe your wife gave you the choice of either she goes or the car goes...and she won by a margin, then let me know.

General Discussion / R-89 battery or topper
« on: November 13, 2005, 04:43:20 PM »
My battery on my 69 Camaro is just about dead.  I am looking to get a new side post battery that is the old style R89.  Ricks has one for $285..WOW.  Is there another source?  I see there are battery toppers...but I have only found R59 top post.  Do they make a side post battery topper?  Is there a way to convert a R59 top post topper to a side post topper?  If anyone knows where to get an R89  for a better price then Rick, please let me know.  I was looking to spend about $150 at most.  If not, I guess I will just get a regular battery for now and wait to see if a side post topper ever gets produced.
