Hey guys...I am trying to figure out if anyone has used either supplier for a Tremec 5 speed.

I have looked into both suppliers and spoke with them.  They both seem knowledgeable, but of course they are salesmen.

Has anyone had any experience with either one of them.  There are things I liked and disliked about what they are offering so any opinions would help.

or

http://www.classicchevy5speed.com/Camaro-Firebird-1967-81-Kit-Select.aspx

The components are different and the pricing is about $500 cheaper for one of them for the identical kit.  I don't mind spending the difference if the money will get me a better setup.  But, is it really better or just higher priced.  Overall, which one with have the highest quality, ease of install and help if I need it.  If anyone has used either kit, please let me know.

Hey guys...just my usual begging of photos of your cars to post on the home page at the beginning of every month.  So send em to me.  As usual, I need 67 and 68 pics badly.  I still have a few 69's but send em to me anyway as I will get to them in the next few months.

Thanks guys,

Was there a power seat option for the 67-69 Camaro...either factory or dealer option?  I saw what looked like a power seat track at Rick's Camaros when in Georgia, but have never seen or heard of one on a car.  Was this a proto-type that never made it or does this option really exist.  If so, anyone got any pics of it?

Sorry about the shameless plug, but this is really a good deal for someone wanting to upgrade the electrical system in their first gen Camaro.

I am selling on ebay a Ron Francis Wiring kit for 1967 -1969 Camaro.  It came with my 69 Camaro project car when I bought it but I am not using it.  This kit costs $420 new and I am listing if for less than half of that.  This kit is BRAND NEW and unused.  I am not looking to make a huge profit on it as I would really just like to see it go to someone who wants it and can really use it.  Check out my auction at Ebay # 190058917938

Also, check out Ron Francis website for better details on the kit itself at:

Again, sorry for the shameless plug, but I am hoping someone will want this.

General Discussion / Programming keyless entry for 97 Firebird
« on: December 01, 2006, 12:44:09 AM »
Okay...so this is not Camaro related and I am sorry for this post if anyone is offended.  However, consider it a compliment as you guys have been helpful on my 69 Camaros when it came time for information.  I just bought a 97 TA WS6 and had to get another keyless remote.  How do I program the remote to my car?  I am hoping that at least one of my first gen experts can help me or at least direct me with this request.  I have looked all over the internet and can not find instructions that work.

General Discussion / Need Camaro pics for the homepage
« on: September 26, 2006, 01:54:08 AM »
Hey guys,

Send me your Camaro pics for the homepage.  As most of you know, they get changed every month.  I have no pics left for the 67 slot for next month and I have only a few for 68.  For you 69 guys, send in a pic anyway.  I promise it will get posted.  As for you 67 & 68 Camaro guys, come on.  Everyone complains that there are too many 69's and that 67 and 68 is hugely overlooked.  So send in your pic to show the 69 guys that there are still plenty 67 and 68 Camaros out there.  If I only get 69 pics sent to me and I don't get any 67 and 68 submissions before the end of the month, I am going to post all 69 Camaros for all three years.  And if I don't get any pics at all, then I am going to start putting up pics of Fords.  Please, don't make me resort to this.

send your pics to    sdkar@bellsouth.net

Thanks guys,

Steve

Maintenance / Steering box rebuild service for Power steering
« on: September 05, 2006, 04:52:58 PM »
Is there anyone that comes recommended for rebuilding power steering boxes?  My box works fine but is leaking.  Also, is there a place to order a rebuild kit as well?

Steve

I am looking for someone to rebuild my power steering box.  I contacted Jerry MacNeish, but he only rebuilds manual boxes.  I have considered doing this myself, but there seems to be more moving parts in this thing then my entire motor.  It works fine, but leaks like a sieve.  If anyone knows of someone, please let me know.

General Discussion / Need 67 Camaro Pic for September Homepage
« on: August 30, 2006, 07:12:40 PM »
The first usuable 67 Camaro pic gets to show off their car for the entire month of September on the homepage.  Also, send in your Camaro pic of either 68 or 69 as well.  They will get posted in the upcoming months.  Also, for the month of December, I would like to post a pic of each year Camaro that is decorated for the holiday season.  I will select the best one of each year and that Camaro will be the special holiday homepage pic for the entire month of December.  So decorate your car.  It can be as simple as a wreath on the grill or get imaginative.
Send your pics to:

Thanks guys

General Discussion / What size wheels can I go with on a 69 Camaro?
« on: August 29, 2006, 05:50:17 AM »
I am doing a pro-tour project and just about ready to order wheels.  I am thinking of 18" wheels.  How big of a tire can I fit on a 69 Camaro and still look cool and not TOO big.  Also, what  backspace/offset do I need to fit under a factory rear wheel well?

Okay, so this is not quite a Camaro subject.  But it is for my 69 project.  Has anyone used these spray on sound deadener to quiet the car.  The claim seems to be quite high.  Does this stuff actually work?  Or is it a waste of money?

Here is a link to the website selling the quiet sound stuff.

any opinions greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

General Discussion / VIN vs. build date...do these add up?
« on: July 15, 2006, 07:16:10 PM »
Okay, I was just surfing around ebay for the heck of it looking at Pace Car stuff.

I found one Pace Car that is in really rough shape but looks all original with a build date of 04C and a VIN of 627765
ebay # 230005425510

Another Pace Car had a build date of 03E and a VIN of 627047.
ebay # 110006584976

My Pace Car has a build date of 04C and a VIN of 636285.

If these numbers are all correct, then from the last few days in March until sometime in the 3rd week of April (over 3 weeks time), only 718 cars were built.  However sometime near the end of the 3rd week of April (within 7 days) 8520 cars were made.  This does not add up.  Any explanations?

General Discussion / 1969 Camaro weatherstrip roofrails wanted
« on: July 12, 2006, 01:44:21 AM »
I need a pair of the weatherstrip roofrails for a 69 Camaro.  These are the chrome pieces that the weatherstrip press into for the door glass.  If you have a set, let me know and how much.  Thanks.
