Years ago I used to check tires for out of round on a speed balancer with a stick of chalk. If they were out of round it became very visible very quickly. Round tires got a line all the way around, out of round only showed color on high spots. If you can spin the shaft you should be able to spot if it's bent.

I also prefer the c-grip wheel, and if I come across a reasonably priced original would pick it up, and use it. But then I don't have an ultra rare high bucks car. It's just a PJ 307 glide.

All production stripes, Z28 and SS were Red, Black, or White. Red stripes mostly came on burgundy (67) cars. With Silver (69) paint and (715) blue interior, if it had stripes they would have been black.
Personally I like the silver/blue combo.

I tried the Sunday visit a couple years back. Wasn't a productive day. Venders and everyone else was concentrating on getting out. Saturday would be a better choice. I plan to be there for Saturday this year. I need to do some learning.

Flowjoe, I'm not sure about the colors, but I believe the rim was covered with foam, not plastic.

They should raffle it off.......

There were also listed for 69 Red stripes (red cars only). My understanding is you could special order any GM color, but it would have the special -- paint code. If I'm wrong, I will e corrected here.

My 2¢'s worth. If you beleive you have a rarity, and it sounds like you do, Document as well as possible before you do anything.

After that, do what works for you, it's your car.

Here's hoping the title is clean. I knew someone here in NJ who went through a similar process back in the 70's, only to lose the car. It had been stolen some years earlier, and if I recall correctly the insurance company got the car.

Since there is much discussion regarding the missing zinc, I have printed some of the related messages for a friend nearing completion of his  Mopar. He had not heard of this. Is it fair to presume these concerns apply to most muscle cars, or is this a chevy problem due to different oiling methods, etc?
