47  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Re-coding an original door lock on: November 12, 2013, 02:31:13 AM
Back in the 70's I took the cylinders from locks on my corvair to a local lock smith, and had him redo them. When I reinstalled them that afternoon, I had what I wanted. One key worked every lock and switch on the car. Kind of like they build them today. Wasn't real expensive, but some people thought it was stupid. I just wanted it simple.

49  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1968 Camaro <wagon> - Oh the Indignity. on: October 14, 2013, 11:23:06 AM
I seem to recall a prototype first gen wagon in a surfer type photo. Could be wrong, wouldn't be the last time. It even had the fake wood panels (vinyl decals) down the sides

Could it be a common housing with a different lens ?

Maybe the stampings came from a company that supplied other auto makers as well as GM ?
54  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: Gas type on: September 28, 2013, 07:22:05 PM
One rule of thumb is the lowest octane that doesn't cause detonation. There are many variables that could matter. Cam and compression for starters.  If nothing else try small quantities from high octane to low. When you get detonation, back up to the next higher octane.

By the way, no v6 on any first gen. They were all inline or L6's

I don't think he cut it. He just stuck an index card or piece of paper over the corner. If there is a problem with what is shown, I don't see it.

Could be someone just liked them and snagged a pair from the bone yard. I got many upgrades for myself and friends from the local yards.

I don't like it.
