General Discussion / Re: What is a zone car?
« on: January 23, 2019, 01:12:39 AM »
I have a zone car from B'ham, Al. according to the NCRS report also.

It's a 67 convt. 6 cylinder 3-speed on the floor w/ Z21 & Z23,
Paint-Capri Cream w/ white top.

Nothing really special but cool color combo.

I was wondering about this before also. I  have a later GM ring that is about 13/16" and I have a repop that is 1" wide.
I am assuming all early first gen Camaro's use the same but I don't know which is correct.

Garage Talk / Re: 81 camaro I saw

Looks like it has cruise control but oddly lacks A/C.. I always liked the silver interiors.
I own an 80 rs that I bought new as a teenager. It needs some body and interior work.

I still have the old Year one parts book from 25 years ago where I purchased it along with a NOS gas tank.
It shows a different PN# for the 69 z for some reason. The pics in book show no discernible difference.

All of these listed are US gm sending units that used to be denoted by the PN#N

68/69  with 3/8" has a 1/4" return line whereas the 67 did not if I am not mistaken. I have a NOS USA made 67 with 3/8". It has no return line.

« on: September 26, 2018, 02:32:17 AM »
I never realized I had purchased these from Year One in 1995 (if I read that right).  2 individually wrapped in plastic GM 34721222 bumpers.
Mine are the thin type and with embossed part numbers as the others posted here with one exception; It has 517 on them also.

This is the only pics I will post as I do not wish to remove them fron the package at this time. These are NOT for sale also. Posted for reference.

Here's one on Ebay I ran across. https://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-GM-NOS-1967-1969-CAMARO-SMALL-BLOCK-CLUTCH-BELLCRANK-Z-BAR-3998652/152901616882?hash=item2399a584f2:g:rWoAAOSwJc9afg6q not mine.
I have a nos z-bar somewhere I don't know if it has plug or not.

I have a 69 trans with earlier shifter rod mounting studs installed.

Might have been modified over the years.  What is the casting number on the side cover?
3950306 is the number. I think it was modified to fit earlier Camaro.

Congrats on your new Camaro! I've been thru Florence a few times in the past. It must have been a nice trip in the convertible.
