I have 2 also:
One is tilt the other non-tilt but both are floor shift.
Hopefully the pins don't need replacing on the tilt.

Pic of above mentioned socket. Looks like I  could cut down a 12-point socket possibly?

What about the lock nut socket (Kent Moore j-22599) ? What size is this and can I make one with an old socket?

There are four critical tools to use in disassembly and reassembly - look at your Service Manual for the numbers of the pivot pin tool, special socket and the bowl (reassembly) driver, which keeps you from bending or crushing the collar when you drive it back in place after replacing the switch. I wish you luck in finding that one - that REALLY took a good while to locate.

Regards,
Steve

The pivot pin remover tool (J-21854) is available but I see where people have improvised here with other tools.

I have found several bowl drivers (J-21853).

J-22599 is available also if that is the socket your referring to.

I was aware of the pivot pin tool but not the special socket and bowl driver. Can you provide more info on that; pics; part #'s?

I have a 67 tilt column and I want to replace turn signal switch and thinking about going thru the whole thing while I am at it.
Paid $100 for the tool and feel lucky to have found one in good condition.

There are 2 different PN's associated with the tool.
Here is pics of a tool I recently picked up.
Plus it will fit other car makes too.

Door plugs recently acquired for reference.
Hard to believe they packaged these individually.

Thanks for the pics using that tool as I plan on doing the same with my RS grill and headlight door trim.

67 adjusters screw length is 1 3/8" and so are the NOS #5953005 as listing in AIM in my pics in other thread posted above.
They are not black nor are the original ones I have.

I don't know about other years.

I believe some are white also. At least that's is what's on my original 67 RS capsules.
The nuts are nylon and aftermarket are not in my experience.

While restoring some items that I planned in selling, I referenced this thread and hopefully came close to the intended result.

I noticed your spring has more coils than others. Is that a reproduction or just one you painted?
