6-cylinder Camaros / 230 OR 250 C.I. 6 cylinder

Is there anyway to tell what engine originally came in my 67 convertible?
I have often wondered whether it was a 230 or a 250.
Also is there any data showing how many of each engine were porduced in 67 Camaro's?

I got lucky and found a nos am radio on ebay. I won it in the last minute because noone had met the reserve and I had a gut feeling about what the reserve price was. I was right and won the auction meeting the reserve of $250.00.

I don't care if it works or not just wanted something nice to fill the hole and it was well worth the money imho.

Decode for body number: 008164
 
09C = Built the Third week of September.
67-12637 = Custom Interior Coupe.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
732 = Custom Bright Blue Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats.
F-2 = Lower Color is Marina Blue and the Vinyl Top Color is Black.
R = Interior paint is Bright Blue

I read about that guy but also remember reading about this guy selling repro parts for nos also. Now there are 2 different names from same location with very similar pics. something seems fishy here also.

I have all the originals in front (I believe) of me (missing 1 bolt for smaller bracket). They are all 1 1/2 " long.

The only difference is the smaller 2 brackets (of which I am missing one bolt for some reason I had it at one time) that each has 1 bolt, those are different slightly: the washers are 1/8" smaller (1 1/8 " for the 6 bolts and these 2 that have 1" washers) and they are threaded on the pointed part of the bolt whereas the other 6 the threads stop at the point.

Fwiw I have a set of 67 rs NOS fenders with holes. I drove to Yearone in Georgia and picked em up myself (back many years ago when they sold em) in the G.M. box so I know they are real deal. Also it included lower extensions and they are wired on.

They look just like the NOS G.M. mounts (same pn# numbers) I have I got them over the counter supposively fits BB and Z28.

Hey Jerry my car is standard interior but is a Z23 interior (could the chrome knob be part of Z23?) and my car had the chrome metal knob. I am almost certain its polished aluminum from factory because I see no chrome remnants anywhere and aluminum polish shines it right up like new.

Only 1 door had a knob other door knob is mia. I have had this car for almost 20 years and I am pretty sure it has original doors and although it is possible someone could have put metal knob in it before I got it. Anyways they sure look good to be so old after polish.

 Fwiw I used some Tripoli on my old original knob to cut thru grime and buffed em both with white Rouge and they definitely look better than new.

I have posted about Just Dashes before.  In the case of 67 and 68, the dashes are too big when you receive them back.  They do not look factory, like they are on steroids.  All edges are too fat.  NG.  Beautiful job, they just do not look original to the car.

Thanks for the heads up Jerry I am gonna re-think this and either try and fix original myself (its not too bad) or go repro.

Just dashes recently quoted me I think around $450.00 to redo my original 67 dash. I am gonna bite the bullet here and send it to em. Luckily these dashes are small, God knows what they would charge want for a larger dash.
