Originality / Re: 1967 Z-28 302
« on: February 23, 2018, 02:13:40 AM »
On my 1967 RS the steering wheel has a standard horn button not the RS. I know this is the way it came from the factory as my brother in law bought it new and it has never been worked on. All original numbers matching L30/M20 Camaro one repaint and new carpet and seat covers. Engine has never been rebuilt. The smog stuff has been removed if it ever had it.

Kurt will have to weight in on this one. I do remember reading about a original 1969 Z28 that had X11 on the trim tag. I bet Kurt has more information on it. This Camaro may be the "ONE".

General Discussion / 1969 Z28 for sale
« on: January 29, 2018, 06:01:57 PM »
I know that a lot of guys are looking for a real 1969 Z28. I saw one on KSL cars in Salt lake Utah. This is not mine and I have nothing to do with this Camaro but I just thought I would pass on the information for someone looking for a real Z28. The trim tags looks good but I am not an expert. If this is not the correct place for this information the please move it to where it should be. Weston

About what time in 1968 did the bright pedal trim appear? January 1?

Decoding/Numbers / 9078 Booster
« on: August 24, 2017, 07:39:01 PM »
In going thru some of the boxes I got with my Z I found the brake booster 9078 with a 343 stamp on the back of the tab. I have a WT master cylinder that I can use. It looks like they just replaced the master cylinder because all the other stuff is there. Now who do I send this to get it rebuilt and restored?

I know this is strange but your dish washer does a great job in removing all the grease and they come out very nice. Just do not tell your wife. I did it when I was single.

Just my 2 cents. Of all the Camaro's I own, none of them has a cowl hood. The 67 is all original with one repaint with new seat covers and carpet. The 68 SS BB does have the rear spoiler because the holes were all ready there. I built the other 68 coupe to look like a Z28 because I did not think I would ever own one and the Seafrost green looks so much better with white rally stripes. Yes I did put the rear spoiler on.  The 68 Z28 that I got last year will be built as close to original as I can. No console no spoiler so it will be one of those that people walk by looking at the "Blinged" out clones.

The" rare blinker indicator" is for cars equipped with fiber optic indicators. It is a rare option and I need the rear one for my 68 Camaro. I have all the front stuff. Just can not see paying the price people want for them. He did not replace the ones on the front fenders.

Sorry no partial vin on low HP Camaros in 1967 not required,  Only the valuable ones got the vin number stamped on them for insurance reasons. To many people stealing them. Yes in 1968 and after.

"What's the factory brake setup?  Also, is the partial VIN stamped on your L30 engine block? Pete L48"
Drum brakes all the way around.
No Vin stamped on low hp cars.
Brother in law bought it off the lot. Have P.O.P and order sheet and order computer punch card for the Camaro. All numbers matching with original sheet metal. Just took the vinyl top off and had the roof repaired and repainted it the correct color and redid the seats, carpet and dash pad. Engine and trany have never been out off the car.
