I think they knew what they meant with the blue interior. :)
No headrests either. No seatbelts, but there's a bolt in the floor?
What's the vent in the dash were the heater controls go? For the added AC?
Power steering?
I thought Lemans, but that fender pic looks like Glacier.

Yes on the tag pic.
Thanks! You're the Yutivo man!!

First time I have seen these rivets, original perhaps?

Send you photos of Trim tag

Yes the vent added for the AC, some say Yutivos could be had with dealer added AC, I tend to believe that.

The missing headrest seem to be on all 69 Yutivos.
Word is Yutivos came without seatbelts, but all the holes are there for the belts, and this clearly has bolts on both passenger and driver side - will check when I get back.
No PS.

Also not the first time they used a standard interior trim code on a deluxe interior, see below with trim 711. Yes I know seats have been swapped, but clearly deluxe door panels:

Nice complete car. Not very common from what I've seen! Yes, that's a first for blue exterior and interior.

What color were the firewalls painted?
I see they didn't paint the dash beside the clock blue.
If you get any drivetrain codes, that would be great!

Thanks!

Will get drive train codes at my next visit.
Do you want me to email any of above pics in high resolution, e.g. trim tag?

Few more pictures showing paint. Its either Lemans or Glacier blue.
What is your take on the 715 Trim code standard buckets?

Still in the islands?
Yes still in the PI's. At the body shop.
No hidden VINS on this one as well, as usual with Yutivos

Engine stamp, not really clear:

Sounds like the engine has been swapped. If the stamp was wrong for the engine, I would expect to see the same thing on the trans stamp.

I doubt it - the odds of finding another engine with exactly the same last three VIN digits is pretty remote. However, making any evaluation of a painted pad is impossible, as you can't see the pad surface. The paint should be removed (WITHOUT using any abrasive material) and take another high-res close-up macro photo of the pad.

My engine and M20 trans are both stamped with the 5 instead of the 2:

sorry cant find pictures with full VIN right now

JohnZ,

What is your take on the 9 and 6 issue I have with the engine's Partial VIN stamp vs the Full VIN? Could this have been a stamping mistake at the assembly plant? Or is it more likely one of the two previous owners tracked down this engine that was almost exactly the same partial vin stamp??

Thanks for your ideas!

Rick

It could be a plant error, but it's unlikely at that position in the gang holder; the die in that position was only changed once a day. A good close-up photo (using the camera's "macro" mode) of the pad would be helpful.

My LA build L48 has L553xxx stamped instead of L523xxx, also misstamp. Kurt S has high quality photos of the stamp.

My 67 came with one originally and it will be put back on it when I restore it. Nantucket Blue, Black top, White stripes orignally. Kind of wish the stripes and top were the same color.
Yes why aren't they the same color, who would order a car like that, obviously you would have ordered it with same color stripe and vinyl, me too
