Are you saying only 314 3:07 rear ends?? I thought that was the most common 12 bolt ratio.  I got two of them.

Maybe you have a restriction in the line. It is a pump. If it is pumping a greater volume than can flow it will follow the path of least resistance.

Originality / Re: Trunk lid rod position
« on: March 23, 2012, 05:05:00 PM »
Thanks, so originally they were in the upper slot. Is that the same for both D80 and non D80. Even with the stronger rod on a D80 car would it need to be in a lower notch. And I kinda remember back ion the day my deck lid coming up when I turn the key. Was that the original idea? After 40+ years they may not act the same and so many cars have spoilers added without the rod change like my convertable. I have to check my sons car as it is the only one in my shop that hve probably not been removed. I guess with repo lids and spoilers a lot of weight differences now. Would be interested in some survivor car rod possitions.

Originality / Trunk lid rod position
« on: March 23, 2012, 01:48:33 AM »
Is there a standard location for the ends of the spring rods. There are three notches. I assume there would be a normal position that they were in  from the factory and would it be the same on D80 cars since one rod is bigger. So should the lid raise on it's on when the key is turned or just jump up a little?

Here's a 10c early Norwood car that has the holes in the subframe.
Are there any known real BB AC cars with out the holes?

I have learned on the NCRS site that most starters of this era were painted all over but some were not painted at all.

Here is an early LA built car that I noticed the holes for the shield on the underbody pics. Looks like 09B

I know the date but didn't know what that meant as far as the engines istalled in the cars. Seems like for there to be 01A 307s the notice would have had to gone out early enough that dealers would know what engine would be in the car they ordered. I would have thought a date deadline would have been that any car ordered after a certain date would get the new engine.  I mean how would they know how many 327s to have on hand if they were going to start putting 307s in on the first workday of JAN?
What would have been the leadtime on order to build to ship dates for a base car in this timeframe?
