I like it !! If there is indesputible documentation backing up the that this conversion was done at the dealership back in the day and that Smokey was in on it then OK.. that takes the value way up . Otherwise I am not sure how you price that car. I was not sure the 4 wheel disc was available in any form in 1968 but I don't know much about 69's and even less about 68's so could be :)  I think the car is pretty badass though

Pat

He was 13 when he took that photo and he will be 17 later this year. He did a lot of work on the 69 RS Z . We took out the original drive train and put in a 427 SB dressed like the original DZ302 , a TKO 600 with upgraded suspension and brakes . Great driving car . My Daughter wants a Pace Car and will be 19 this year . I told her if it is in my garage you can have dibs on one but I am not going to go buy a Pace Car at todays prices !! She chose my yellow on yellow Z so she will get that one day.....maybe

Actually I wouldn't have considered that car a project Pat. My son took that picture in 2006 or so in front of the Chrystal Springs Resivor behind my house 20 min south of San Francisco ,California.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: z11 is it a fake?

I was the only Z 10 owner I knew of that was OK with the fact that Z 10's are not pace cars. Some guys absolutley insist they are.. you could have JC himself down here telling you it is not a Pace Car and they would still insist it is:)

General Discussion / Re: 69 DZ 302 Z28 motor

Bill:
In my opinion, because the engine does not have a partial vin stamped  on the pad along with the suffix code anyone who has a 69 built in Late January thru the the 3rd week of March 69 could buy this engine and post it as at the very least numbers matching if not original. Dave

I think a V0331DZ motor would be too late for any March built car and certainly any car built before...looks like a second to third week of April motor to me

yep De Pere auto body.. the guy told me I had first dibs...called a friend to go see if he wanted to make the trip to WI in the dead of winter with me and he said " I am already going , I got first dibs" needless to say niether one of us went. Nice guy but he talked nice to everyone like they had "first dibs" on the stuff. There was even a guy who was from the area that was told by both families.. the original owner and the new owner that he would get a certain BB Camaro out of the stash and he got the shaft , feel bad for that guy

I bought mine from Keisler and it was an easy swap. Everything fit and worked perfect... however, the guys from Classic Chevy are pretty active on the TC web site and I have heard great stuff about thier kit so I would not hesitate to use it .
This is the one time I did not heavily photograph an install for whatever reason. The only pictures I have are of the Keisler titanium blend bellhousing. When I installed my headers and new exhaust I took some photos and this one shows the Keisler cross member , it is a nice piece. The shifter did locate in the factory hole with no cutting.

Go to www.photobucket.com and you can get a free account that will host your photos so you can post them on the forum. Or email them to me and I will do it. I can't wait to see this car :) My vintage race car was in Central America in El Salvador for years...lots of cool cars down there.

General Discussion / Re: Real or Fake Z10?
« on: April 08, 2007, 06:56:08 AM »
The seller of the Z10 claims to be in Seymour, Indiana where I'm sitting right here and now. The population here is about the same as what the sellers buy it now is. I've tried to contact this bozo the last couple of times he has advertised the car on both ebay and some of the camaro sites with no reply? Don't know why he wouldn't respond if its legit?  If anyone can get a Seymour address for this joker just PM me and I'll take care of it.

Pat, Do you think this could be our old buddy back at his old tricks ? You know who I am talking about.. Frank from C+ ?
