This is all of the pictures I have for now. The car is in hibernation as it has been for a while.

If the car was originally a 4 speed car, the hole in the firewall where the speedometer cable goes through is different for a 4 speed muncie equipped car. The muncie 4 speed was only available in an SS car or a Z/28. If the muncie hole would be one indicator.

Sounds like possibly the brake switch under the dash.  When you depress the brake pedal, the switch button comes out turning on the brake lights. It could be misaligned or not connected well. I had this issue in the recent past.

I am aware that other cars were rolling down the assembly line at Van Nuys but wouldn't this be out of an SS 350 Camaro?

Where does the speedometer cable go through the firewall? This car should have a 12 bolt and being a 4 speed, the location where the speedometer cable goes through the firewall will indicate whether it had a Saginaw transmission (L30/M20) or a Muncie transmission (SS). Is there a letter after the 3 on the cowl tag"

My rs car has a build date of 12C and the stamped engine code is V1202MF and is verified on the POP. My VIN is 124377L130240 so it is definitely a good chance it is original to your car.
